We have a Take-it MV500- 12X Digital Zoom- -Microtek- Does anyone know much about it? we are new to this. How many pictures or videos fit on a memory card? Why is the card so expensive? We went to Radio Shack last night and were appalled at the prices. We also looked at the adapters for Foreign(UK) appliances. We need the adapter for the camcorder. I think I might wait to get an adapter at a store in London. God idea?? This thing is so tiny- my husband bought it off the NBC home shopping club. If anyone can break down the instructions for it in LAYMAN"S terms!! it would be appreciated. I am not going with the disposable camersa. They are too much to lug around. I need one of 2o-something sons to help with the use of the darn thing, but one's in Samoa and the other is never available!

hershey . . . you had better get your adapter in the States. You might have difficulty finding one in London that will allow American style appliances to plug into it. I would guess that the ones sold there are geared to allow UK appliances to plug into sockets in other countries.

RaroGirl- HI- funny thing is, at Radio Shack they had adapters for foreigners needing to adapt THEIR appliances!! what's the weather like in Washington? my son is moving back to seattle again to be an observer on fishing boats. He works for an international fishing company line that contracts with NOAA. He loved Seattle. Said there were a lot of Coffeehouses! He said you can find internet wireless everywhere. He goes out from Alaska's Dutch Harbor.

Over here in the southeastern corner of Washington we are having coolish overcast weather. I suspect it is similar in Seattle right now, although they may be fortunate enough to be getting some actual rain. They usually get a lot more rain than we do--we could certainly use some of that rain as we've had a very dry year.

Here inOhio it's ugly and overcast. I, personally, doen't mind it ,because i don't have to drive to a job, and I like to stay in and resd, etc. I actually like winter the best of all the seasons! I have tosay that quietly, as I am in the minority! Our summer was hot and humid, and after about june 15 or so, is too hot to work out in flower beds, etc. I had a big ENGLISH garden started in the spring, and as thesummer progressed, I just sort of gave up on it.Well, both my parents died, also, so I can get out of mu laziness somewhat> Now I have to get out there before I leave on the trip and cut back all the perennials, etc. A task i dread. Right now I just want ot stay inside and watch BBCAmerica, and basically vegetate.

Hershey - I would be very surprised if you need a voltage converter for your camera, look at the power supply and see if it is rated at at something like 100 to 250volts - if it is and is more than likely that it will be, then all you need is aplug adaptor, which you can easily buy locally, or in the UK. I am surprised that you think that memory cards are expensive, they have dropped quite a lot in recent times. Don't forget you can fit hundreds of pictures on them, and once you have saved the contents to CD or your hard drive, you can reuse them. I don't know what currrent prices are in the US, but you should be able to buy a 1 gig card for under $100. which depending on what quality setting you use on your camera, will easily store 1000 or so images.
