I have a Pentax IQZoom 60- automatic everything, since I'm so good at this. What speed film would anyone recommend- I plan to take shots from the bus as well as indoors, and want to stick with one spped only so I dont have to worry about what's in my camera- was thinking of getting all 400- good idea????? Thanks,

ASA 400 film is a great all- aroound choice.
We're leaving for Spain in a few hours and I've packed about 20 rolls.

Enjoy your trip!

400 ISO is a good speed of film, but it can get grainy especially if you want enlargements like I usually get. If you go with 400, consider getting a few rolls of Fuji NPH 400 which is a high quality film which I use almost exclusively for darker days (cloudy, rain etc.) when I travel. Save it for your cream-of-the-crop photos though because it's a bit more expensive than other films. Fuji Superia 400 for the rest I would suggest...
But then again, if your camera has a flash for the indoor shots, you could easily get away with 200 ASA film which is good, I use the Kodak Gold 200 quite often. Just remember to turn your flash off when shooting through the bus windows!!!

I'm afraid I must disagree with Chris.

Modern ISO 400 films have much less grain than those of 10-20 years ago. Grain is virtually unnoticeable at 8X10.

If you can adjust the speed control of your camera, shoot at ISO 320-this will give richer color to your photos.

While I, too, shoot ISO 200, I carry some 400 for dark spots like the inside of Notre Dame cathedral.

Have a wonderful trip. Take lots of pictures of everything. My motto is extra film costs a lot less than having to go back to take the shots that I missed!!
