We were blessed to be able to take the Real Italy tour in November of 2002. It was a great trip and if you go you'll love the scenery, food, and people.

Here are about 240 of my pictures: http://tinyurl.com/3h6cr />

You'll have a great time. Be sure to visit the local resturants whenever you can. The hotel food is just "okay", but try to find a place the locals frequent, sometimes just a short walk from your hotel for lunch or dinner. We espcially enjoyed the gellato which is less heavy but better flavored than regular ice cream.

Let us know your thoughts when you return!

Roger, i had a picture from inside a cathedral that i couldn't place. You know how after 20 or so, most of them blend. Well, because of your gorgeous shots, i have identified one as St. Paul's. Thanks
I was suppose to do all of Italy this year and my travel partner cancelled. I have regrouped for possibly next year (doing a canadian cruise this year now) and will be doing 3 seperate Italy tours to get more nights in one hotel, less bus riding and getting more days in an area rather than a drive through. I am glad she cancelled now. I can't wait to go back. I had to laugh at the guy in the picture blowing glass. he was there when i went 3 years ago, and never cracked a smile. When he put the beautiful piece he had just created back in the fire after the demo, we all groaned. Funny how little things bring back vivid memories. I wish i had gotten some of the jewelry in that shop. Sending my mom for it this year. Lucky her.

Hi Roger, thanks for sharing - they are just great shots! Did you use a mono or tripod for night shots? There are no signs of night shake at all...

Glad you enjoyed them - we relive the trip everytime we go through the albums.

Didn't use a tripod or support at all. The digital camera (Kodak DC 4800) did a good job of selecting a good combination of shutter speed when I opened the aperature to f2.8. I've also learned to exhale completely before pressing the shutter release - that always helps. Of couse, I only show the better shots so you can be sure some didn't turn out quite as well <grin>.

I'm happy to share if you'd like to order some. Shutterfly does a good job at reasonable cost.
