Hi everyone

No, she didn't mention anything about the Melbourne Show but as she is only just starting up and based in Sydney I'm not sure. She did give me her card and said to contact her if there was anything particular I wanted that she didn't stock as she is trying to build up her business. I am after Malaysian related papers, embellishments etc so I will contact her re that as I haven't found anything anywhere else. My friend's son has just returned from Nepal with a lot of photos for her to scrap so she is asking for suggestions about that.

On another note, I bought a terrific rubber stamp in London that has 4 sides - the London eye,Tower Bridge,Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament & Westminster Abbey. Can't wait to use it. They had several others that I wish I had bought. Oh, just realised my son is coming for a visit later this month. Maybe I should ask him to go shopping for me!!!

Happy scrapping

Bridgette

I did a whole scrapbook of our trip to Britain, Ireland, and Scotland and had trouble finding stickers and things in 2003. Now that it's a booming business there are places everywhere for travel stickers, papers, etc. My favorite for find just what I like is scrapyourtip.com. I have already gotten everything from them for the trip we're taking to Italy Plus the 18th! Such a fun place.

I'm planning to keep my eyes open for scrapbook items on my upcoming trip to the British Isles. I hope I can find some things. And, of course, I'll be looking over every ticket or scrap of paper I come across with that in mind.

Hello travel_scrapbooking and welcome to the board. Smiler This is a great website which I have not seen before, thank you.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Trafalgar could contract a company to produce their own scrapbooking paper, with their logo across the top or down the side with a tour bus in a corner or similar, and maybe they could incorporate other countries on their paper showing just where their tours go. Smiler

Or have some travel scrapbooking stickers made, eg, a picture of a TT Coach, a picture of the carry-on TT bag, or some TT luggage tags stickers. Smiler

I have been looking everywhere for papers like this! Espcially on Egypt and the middle east as no one stocks them!

I also just purchased one of those racks to put all your papers in!

I am so excited with all my purchases!

Since the other thread was deleted i will put up the address for the travel scrapbook site: www.scrapyourtrip.com It has materials arranged by the different countries.

We have a few small scrapbook stores here n northern indiana that I absolutely love. At one the will try to find you whatever you need.

Also, I don't know about other countris, but here in the states they also have conventions for scrapbooking with classes and all the new products for sale.

Another great place to find materials is on ebay.

Wow...that site is great, which is a bad thing for me. I just came back from doing a tour of Wales & Ireland and am starting my new scrapbook for this tour. This site is great, because I've found lots of stickers and things for London, but nothing for Wales & Ireland.

Thanks

I just returned from a trip to the British Isles. I tried to look for scrapbook items in the shops we went into--I did find lots of stickers everywhere in the souvenir shops, though they were not specifically designed for scrapbookers--but most of them could be used in scrapbooks. I didn't have much luck finding other embellishments for scrapbooks. I did find some scrapbook type 3-D stickers in one store but they were very generic--not anything that related to that country. I bought some of them because they were different than anything I have seen here.

I have just found some nice papers on Africa online at a company in South Africa... does anyone know how hard it is to order and get mail sent to Australia?

I know that this thread is about a year old, but because we started talking about scrapbooking in the "What to do with your photos after your trip" thread I thought I'd resurrect it.

I'm curious about a few things.
1) What sorts of items do you collect while on your tour to add to your scrapbook later on?
2) Is anyone willing to post a picture (or pictures!) of some of their travel scrapbooks? I'd like to see what others have done.

I have never scrapbooked (as mentioned in the other thread) and am pretty interested in doing on for my trip in October. I'm going to England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland for 20 days and it's the first overseas trip I've ever taken. I'd really love to be able to make a fantastic momento of this trip.

Hi Kwintesenc,

I am an avid scrapbooker and made albums for both my Best of Egypt and Britain and Ireland Panorama tours - I love looking back on them and reminiscing. I am leaving in a week's time for two tours - Grand Alpine and then Italian Glory and will definitely be scrapbooking my photos when I get back and have time.

I collect ticket stubs, small brochures and postcards. To ensure that they don't get scrunched up I put an empty video casette case (weighs next to nothing)in my suitcase and each night put what I have collected in there. On my last tours I also collected some stamps and kept some paper money to add to my pages.

I also keep a diary when travelling so can jot down names, dates, places and interesting pieces of info - I find this an enormous help when i come back to do the journalling in my albums

I know scrapbooking is time consuming but I find it very relaxing and it is a great way to relive your holiday. Smiler

Ripley: Great ideas, I also keep my airline tickets, boarding passes and tour paperwork to insert in the album and chocolate wrappers, etc for goods we can't buy here in Australia.
