But 'ladies' isn't it interesting that this type of 'poking fun' at men is common in many western cultures (not sure about eastern) but there does not seem to be a reverse form to the same extent Big Grin

This is only what I have found from my own observation Wink

Poking fun and other awful things at women has been around since the world began, Cottontail. Even today among stand-up comediens, women are used as their favourite subject. How many mother-in-law jokes have you heard? And father-in-law? It's only in the past three decades maybe that women have finally spoken up.

Well, Roxy, we know that there has been 2 major blunders in our country.

First, giving women the right to vote and secondly (and more dastardly) allowing them to drive. Smiler Smiler Smiler

Different cultures BC Big Grin we don't have stand-up comedians here very often, just not our type of humour Wink Not many MIL jokes either. If men do they get 'the look' Big Grin and realise its a 'no go zone'. A few 'blonde' jokes float around but not often now days.

If anyone is interested in electronic "scrapbooking", you could try out scrapblog.com ... I thought it was pretty amusing.

Now back to the off-topic discussion.

FoxDesigns: I had a look at the website, it was quite good, but, I would prefer to personalise my work.

Brenda,

Well, I try, but sometimes the impish part of me takes over. At least I used a "Smiley;" that has to account for something. Smiler

I wish I could just "sit still."

I leave in a few days and a few minor things still have to be done. I try to make it a practice that everything is done before the last 2 or three days before leaving. There is nothing worse than packing, or running around, under stress.

Actually, the only reason I am on this computer is that I got a phone call advising me that there was a change in one of the hotels. Of course, no big deal, but I appreciate the "heads up" so that I can check out the new hotel. Unfortunately (or fortunately) - I'm not sure which) I'm a detail oriented person - "anal," comes to mind.

Regards,

Bob

Wow, I just found this thread today. I have been scrapbooking for years & am totally addicted! I also do stamping, & add that to my scrapbooks. I have done one of each of my trips, but a couple are so thick that if you put one on your lap, it almost makes your legs go numb! Big Grin

I put a lot of journalling into my books so that I can let someone borrow one of them, & I don't have to offer any further comments, as they are self-explanatory. Each book takes me about a year to complete, & I enjoy re-living the entire tour when I do the book.

After a couple of years, I tend to forget a lot of the details, so if I re-read them, I find myself enjoying the trip all over again. I tease my grown daughter that once I'm in a nursing home, she can bring me one of my scrapbooks on a rotating basis so I can say, "Did I really go there? I don't remember that!" Big Grin Big Grin

JanCanuck - I can relate to what you have posted Big Grin

I have just started my first scrapbook. Smiler

I have done 2 x 50 page digital photo albums (Frogprints) of our last trip, these only contained captions. Had quite a lot of fun 'making up' pages with cut and pastes etc. A tutor of scrapbooking liked the results of mine so much that she has done 3 now Eeker Even copied a scrapbook into a digital version. Eeker

But its now time for a true scrapbook style for a diary in 'letters home style'. Photos of each hotel and containing all the 'bits and pieces' we obtained on the journey. I just want 'everything' in one place and I don't care how many pages it is Wink Eeker If they are left in a box they won't get looked at. I want something to bring back the memories, they fade so quickly if not brought to the fore from time to time.

Always looking for new ideas and hints so any comments are welcome. Big Grin

PS: I'm not interested in 'online' blogs/books I like a hand held printed version that I can pass on to those whom I know are interested.

Oh I love that you have this blog on here. Thanks Bling4 for the post on the scrapbook store, I just ordered from them. We took a trip to Europe over the summer and my local stores seem to have limited items for international travel and they had lots of great stuff.

I'm getting ready to start my trip scrapbook, just finished my parents 50th anniversary book and my daughter's book is always under construction! I'll never finish that one....
