Internet Premiere: Best of Germany Tour, September 2003

My new film Septemberfest presents all of Germanys best known places: Frankfurts old town, a Rhine River cruise, Colognes Cathedral, the Hamburg red-light district, Berlin (The Wall, and other changes since 1990), lovely Dresden, Nuremberg, the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial, Munich (glockenspiel, beer hall, and palaces), plus King Ludwig IIs most famous castle.

This is a free, non-commercial, streaming video on the Windows Media Player. No ads and no strings attached. I sell absolutely nothing. However, you need a high speed internet connection such as DSL or cable in order to view the film.

Videos of three earlier Trafalgar tours are also on line: Gondola With the Wind 2 (Grand Tour of Italy-2001); From Flamenco To Fez (Spain Morocco & Portugal-1999); and My Pub Runneth Over (Grand Tour of Britain & Ireland-1997). There are also 24 of my other amateur travel videos being streamed covering all seven continents.

To begin your tour, copy the address of my video site into your browser:

http://www.geocities.com/intrepidberkeleyexplorer/Video.html

Give these films a try. (I also have still pictures from every continent, including several Germany pages, which you can reach by using the link at the bottom of the video page regardless of the modem being used.)

Hi Berkeley Explorer,
I just saw your Septemberfest video and it was very nice. I just returned home from Germany and it brought back memories of my recent trip.
When I have time I'll check our the other videos. How good of you to share your love of travel with the rest of us who are also travel junkies!

Absolutely superb! Came across very well indeed on my ADSL connection.

What software do you use to create your videos, as a matter of interest?

Regards,

Chris

Chris,

Thanks very much for your positive review.

I now edit on my computer using the Matrox RT2500, of which Adobe Premiere 6.0 is the major tool. This system from 2002 is already out of date. All the older videos have analog origins, Hi8 to S-VHS on a wonderful 1990 Panasonic VCR designed for amateur editing. These were converted to digital for the internet last year.

Hi B.E.
As usual, we thoroughly enjoyed your recent trip to Germany. Brought back a lot of memories on our trip last year with TT to Europe.
Keep up the good work. Too bad a network doesn't pick up your work, have you ever tried to sell them? Anyway, glad it is free for us as we have seen all of your videos.
Where do you go next?
thanks
maril

Maril,

Glad you liked "Septemberfest".

I am quite comfortable with my amateur status. It's easier to offer the videos for free over the internet rather than try to sell them.

In response to your "what"s next?" question, I am thinking of France in 2004, plus Mexico or Brazil.

Cat's Inheritance,

It's a pleasure to hear from someone who likes the titles and the videos. I appreciate your kind words.

That post assumes Yahoo/Geocities is my Internet Service Provider. Actually, it just hosts the website - (once for free, now for fee); But the site making tools are easy to use, which is important given that HTML is yet another language I'm hopeless with.
