Great pictures, I love when people post their pictures because it allows others to see what potential destinations look like.

Thanks

Hi Thimble,
To answer your question about info on the Best of Germany and Austria Tour, I (BarBeeQue4) and Singer have both listed info about this trip we took last April/May. If you would like any more info just let me know.

To hallgri:
Thanks for the note.

We were fortunate to have glorious sunny days during the tour. It rained only on the last two days of the trip. At times the AC in the bus kept us cool. So we all managed to stay dry and click perfect pictures. Some of the sites though were undergoing repairs and many buildings some cleansing treatments to eliminate the pollution that has left them covered with something that looked like soot. After the restoration these attractions would be more impressive to gaze upon.

To Thimble:

I am really enjoying your journal on France.
The BOG&A tour has changed in format in 2002.
The value still looks tempting. More sightseeing in Southern Germany is included in the new version. Dresden and Nuremberg are not included in this one. But (I am guessing) you'll be seeing other medieval towns which are less crowded in the tourist season and staying maybe at better hotels in these areas. You will love Germany. I found that the sounds of the Church/cathedral bells drive away all your travel worries.

Dear Tracey

I am pleased to know that you liked the photos and the music. I too am a fan of SoM songs and movie. I even watch it every year during Xmas hols on TV. I was naturally happy to see the different locations from the movie in the city of Salzburg.

You have said that you are travelling to Europe in October with your fiancee. What tour are you planning to take? You could take the SoM tour(4 hours long) on your own and spend time in the city, if you choose not to do the optional to Berchtesgaden.

The orientation walk through the town takes us to, Mirabell gardens,St. Peter's Cemetry,Residenz Platz, Nonnenberg Abbey and at (the evening optional- Mozart recital)the Count's home we can see the gates from the movie. We even glimpsed the Wedding Church in Mondsee on the road to Vienna. Thus we covered most of the locations by staying on with the tour. Smiler

Hi Celia,
Thank you.
I read another posting that you made a while ago about your trip to Scotland. I would like to visit that country sometime. I have read all of Rosamunde Pilcher's novels. I have been to Nova Scotia though. It is supposed to have a striking resemblance to parts of Scotland. Smiler

Hi Fourth Tour:

It is so nice of you to make such warm comments about the pictures.

When you get back from your trip, will you be posting some pictures?
