Tangata - now you have corrected your typo from 'god' to 'good' - people are going to think my post is a bit strange - but I can live with that - it is nothing new, after all! Big Grin

Steve, yes I suppose we will definitely pay up big time for the ultimate camera. At any rate, I am not going to buy the hard drive camera tomorrow, so I will wait a bit and see what transpires.

After reading this review--http://reviews.designtechnica.com/review3304_intro16527.html--I think I would have to pass on this camera even if I were ready to buy. Perhaps they will improve future models. But it doesn't sound that great as to video quality and it doesn't have a viewfinder, a big negative to me.

Rarely a good idea to be on the "cutting edge of technology" with such things as cameras, to my mind. Better to let the technology "shake down" and get all the problems sorted out. That way you pay much lower prices and get better products.

RaroGirl,,

I haven't read the review, but, I ABSOLUTELY agree. I would NEVER buy a camera without a "proper"* viewfinder.

Cats,

Would you settle for, "influenced," instead of "conquered"? Smiler I still abide by George Washington's, "I owe allegiance to no crown." Wink

Whereas I, to get my first (and only job in Australia - and I have never been unemployed), had to swear an oath of allegiance to her majesty - perhaps that is where our differences lie! Big Grin

What do you mean by that? I can't think of anybody in the world who deserves less to be sworn at than the Queen Frowner. What harm has she ever done anyone?

I don't believe there was any disrespect intended. I personally have a lot of time for the Queen Smiler

Tangata, Sony certainly produce some excelent products. My last 3 camcorders have been Sony and I have been very satisfied with them.

I am currently using a Sony DCR-HC90E Digital camcorder which also takes stills at 3,050,000 pixels but I use this only rarely as I also carry a small Sony 5.1 megapixel camera in my pocket for stills.

The Sony HC90E only has a 10x optical zoom (125x digital) so when travelling in Australia by car I also carry a Sony DCR-TRV520E Digital8 camcorder which has a 25x optical zoom (450x digital) for the occasional convenience of the extra zoom.
