Just a little info. " Thank you' in Egypt, is pronounced.. "Shoo-cran"
"Thank you" in Portugal is " Obrigado"
( "Notta lotta people know dat" !) As Michael Caine might say!

Don't leave town , till you've seen the country.

nation, and the Japanese for thank you is arigato which sounds very much like obrigado and goes back. I understand, to the first explorers from Portugal to the East. Which came first I dunno, but there's clearly an influence. Smiler

Dimpz, I have done lots of research, so after deciding what we would prefer to do, I then posed some questions to our TA and am awaiting her suggestions. I am getting excited as hubby has not said no! It doesn't mean he will say yes (may depend on the $ result), but it is looking hopeful. My plans are always fairly extensive (and expensive) as I try to include as much as possible in a short space of time.

Hoping for: Best of Egypt PLUS Best of Finland, Russia & the Baltic States PLUS Scenic Scandinavia & its Fjords, Late April/May/June 2009.

I received a proposal for these 3 tours from my TA on Friday. Egypt early May, with Russia etc mid May and finishing with Scandinavia ending early June. It looks pretty good. Hubby has not said no yet, so I am continuing to plan & research. I am keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed that it will be all go! Wink

Thank you Brenda. With 3 back to back tours though, I am tired just thinking about it! But when we travel from the bottom of the South Island in New Zealand it is such a long way to the Northern Hemisphere that we like to pack in as much as we possibly can in a few weeks.
