OK - not to sound like a worrier, but I am scheduled to leave April 14th. I have not been able to find where Mahalla el-Kobra is on the map, but I know that it is in the north, and that the riot police were out in full-force in Cario. Should I start getting concerned about the outcome of my "trip of a lifetime"? PLT

I’d check your countries travel advisories. Here in Oz, they haven’t changed their safety levels since Sunday’s strikes and demos. I was in Egypt in January, and there is heaps of security everywhere so I would have confidence if something broke out in an area you were visiting your guide would steer you well clear of the action.

Yaya is right. Your guide will not lead you near any area of unrest. These guides are extremely knowledgeable about their country - both politically and geographically. They know how to keep you safe.
