S & T - is this the one that starts in SFC and ends in Seattle ? If so, we've done it. If you have any questions - fire away ?

S.M. ~ This is the TT we are taking, except our start is 20th September. Perhaps it is a modification of the one you took?

It is L.A. to L.A. & covers L.A. - San Diego - Scottsdale - Sedona - Grand Canyon - Bryce Canyon - Zion - Vegas - Mammoth lakes - Yosemite - Napa/Sonoma - San Francisco - Carme - Monterey - Hearst Castle - Santa Barbara - L.A.

Does any of this ring any bells?

No, sorry Dimpz - mine went Nth from SFC. Yours sounds gr8 tho.

The one I meant went on went Nth from SFC - stops at some unbelievable spots - in the redwoods, on the beach, in the mountains, wine tastings, beach dune buggy rides, jet boats, snow, etc etc. Up through Washington/Oregon etc and stops in Seattle - worth a few extra days to see Boeing Factory and watch the Baseball.

From Seattle you can day trip to Victoria and overnight in Vancouver.

You stop in cabins (open fires), old Hotel/Inns, gr8 Motels and the food is very good.

We'd do it again.

Hope you enjoy the Western Discoverer as much as I did. I did the tour last month and had a wonderful time. Let me know if you have any questions about the tour.

Yesterday's news had a story about a big fire burning around one of the entrances to Yosemite. I haven't looked up which entrance.
Hope they get it under control soon.

I did the San Diego Zoo - it was good but a couple of hours wasn't enough to see it all - didn't see the pandas because the line was too long
Jeep tour in Sedona - lots of fun as long as you don't mind a bit of dust
Fixed wing plane ride - fantastic. I did the helicopter ride over Niagara Falls so decided on the plane ride here, but if you haven't done a helicopter ride before I'd probably do it
Las Vegas Sights and Sounds - must do this one, everyone needs to see Vegas at night
Bally's Jubilee - didn't excite me..it was like a poor version of the Moulin Rouge. I managed to get a ticket to see Elton John at Caesars Palace the next night..WOW
Golden Gate Bridge walk - very enjoyable walk
Chinatown - good night out...we did the cable car ride seperately - it was a lot of fun
I didn't do the hot air balloon ride but wish I had - reports about it were really good..as long as you can get up VERY early
