Dimpz,

We were offered Bally's Jubilee show and a Vegas night tour (inc Freemont Street etc) as optionals and I thought these would be done on separate nights, however they both went on the first night (Bally's didn't start until 10.30pm) so I had the second night free and managed (by an enormous stroke of luck) to get the one and only available ticket for "O" on that night.

I thought that Bally's rivalled the Moulin Rouge, the "night tour" optional was well worth the money, and "O" was just out of this world.

By the way, one couple on our tour actually got married at the Elvis Chapel while we in LV. They had both been married before, both had teenage children, and both were getting hastled by their parents and their kids about their future wedding plans. To avoid the squabbles, they booked the trip alone and didn't tell the families about the wedding. The Chapel can arrange suits, gowns, flowers, photographs etc and everything they had arranged was beautiful.

For the rest of the tour we all kept saying that we were on their honeymoon. When they got home they just planned to say "it's all done, stop squabbling".

CA2 ~ Yes, I did (somehow? memory bad these days) remember that you had told me both were offered on the one night & I hope the same happens for us. I am pleased that you recommend Ballys Jubilee & we will certainly be taking it if offered. Fingers crossed!

BTW you have just about convinced me to take the helicopter ride Eeker

NO.

No way Cat's ... Cool I'd say its for everyone. SURE, it has shows for oldies, but it has "rides", paddle steamer/boat, shopping, and 101 shows. Yes, Dolly's Stampede is there - but I wouldn't say this is an "oldies" gig either.

I'd say its a cross between a much smaller Disneyland and a casino-less Vegas with some excellent eating places and shows.

The Hunting and Camping "Supermarket" is like something else.

If you like a bit of Country and Western and/or comedy - it has that too.

So - if you're going that way - have a look ... Smiler

CA2 - I've seen both Bally's J and the Moulon Rouge, and while enjoying both - can't really say that Bally's J measures up to the Moulon Rouge.

Mike, I agree with you! Bally's puts on a good "revue" type show but I don't think it can compare with MR. It's fun to see at least once, though. Where else could you see a lingerie show on the deck of the sinking Titanic? Big Grin

Dimpz~ I just booked the Jubilee show for my husband and I for next month. I'll give you a review when we return. We are also going to see Lance Burton, my husband loves magicians, sadly though, I can see that his best Vegas trick will be watching his money disappear! Eeker

Dimpz,

You MUST take the helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon - it's absolutely fantastic.
Remember, take the more expensive helicopter offered (the big dark red one - not the little white one with coloured stripes) as there is a huge difference in the quality of the ride as your TD will no doubt point out. DO NOT MISS IT!!
There were at least 3 other ladies on our tour that I had to just about push onto the helicopter, and they all said later that they were so glad that they didn't miss it.

CA2 ~ Yes it is only your previous recommendation that has me almost deciding on it. I had a friend killed in a helicopter accident some years ago & swore from then on I would never travel in one. Years pass & I have now, sadly, had friends depart from all sorts of despicable ailments & think well why not?

LOL Big Grin As my husband advised me 'We all have to die from something' Roll Eyes

You will enjoy it - it has a wide variety of acts, not just burlesque.

I heard that it's quite the show, with a multitude of different acts and performances...this "Titanic" thing has me curious. I love seeing all the costumes and glitter. We used to go to Reno annually, and we saw a lot of amazing shows there, I imagine that Vegas is even more over-the-top.

Re this show and Casinos in general - if you haven't been inside one before - they can be cool to cold - even in summer. When we went to this show in Vegas I heard a number of women (especially) complaining that it was cold. My wife feels the cold and said she thought it was quite cool.

I quite like the cooler atmosphere - but if you feel it - I would suggest you take a cardigan/sweater/jumper with you - just in case.

The Titanic is great too - as are the girls ... Cool
