My wife and I are taking the trip. But not until Oct 7th. I would be interested in hearing from you (or anyone that has taken the tour) after your tour. Please share your thoughts and advise regarding the trip. Have a safe trip.

I am going on this tour on Sept 28th. I am planning to meet friends when we arrive in Denver. It seems a long day from Rapid City. Anyone have any idea what time the tour usually arrives in Denver?

Does this tour go to Arches National Park? The news had a story about the "Wall Arch" in the park collasping yesterday. I have been to the park, but would have to consult my park guide to remember which one that was. I think it was on a trail not by the road.

Hi N Gill,
Sounds like you enjoyed the tour a lot. Glad to hear that, as we will be starting the tour on Oct. 7th. What part of the trip did you enjoy the most? What size of bag is acceptable to carry on the bus? Any advise to make our trip more enjoyable?
Thanks and have a good day.

I'd recommend the optionals of floating down the Snake River as you get to see the Grand Tetons from the water; The Mt. Rushmore Lighting Ceremony was really moving and that includes admission to Bear Country to see some animals; and taking a 45 minute helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon. The view flying over is just breathtaking. It was the highlight of my trip.

I took all of the optionals except the Moab one and opted instead to eat at the fantastic Italian restaurant next to the hotel. The Salt Lake City Garden Tour and dinner was really good.

You will have a great time on the trip. I wish I was taking the tour again. The accommodations are really good and so is the included food. My best meal of the trip was the included dinner at Yellowstone.

At a lot of the stops there is time for you to do extra things on your own. The first night there was a rodeo across the street from Ruby's Inn.

In Salt Lake City I listened to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir rehearse for the Fourth of July performance. There is a genealogy library there as well.

Jackson had a chair lift that provided views of the area, a local theatre company was putting on a show, and other events were going on in the center of town.

Rapid City has a trolley and it will take you on a scenic trip through the city. The presidential monuments on the corners of the streets were nice to look at. I think the trolley was a $1.

The hotel in Denver is on the 16th Street Mall so you can walk or take the free transportation up the street or walk to the Capital Building.

Have a great time on your tour!!!

Hey N Gill, guess who it is? It's Rick-you remember Rick and Christina. We were on the second part of the trip-Best of Canyonlands and kept bumping into each other in Las Vegas.

We were on, like I said, the Best of Canyonlands which was essentially the second half of Scenic Parks. When the Scenic Parks tour got to Denver, that's when we came on board. It was a PHENOMENAL trip. I could not believe the vastness of the Grand Canyon and no words or pictures can do it justice.

There is actually a trip that is the first half of the Scenic Parks as well-I believe it is the Western Frontiers.
