Any "joy ride" that includes a 4-wheel drive Jeep is a leading indicator of rough terrain! Big Grin Big Grin

Roxy, you are right on the money! Our driver told us that they need to keep up the speed while crossing the deep spots and ruts or they will get stuck. I'm not so sure about that but, even though it was the roughest ride I've ever had, it sure was fun! Big Grin

I just wish I had had your thought before before that adventure. Cool

Have a great trip!

Ask them to stop somewhere and hop off and find a place out in the desert behind a large cactus. Be careful if you squat. Smiler

And, watch out for rattlers ... Wink

JenD - How was the scenery? That is what I am really interested in. Did it allow you to get up closer to the scenery or would I see much the same scenery from the bus?

The scenery was great although probably not much different to what you would see on the bus. The jeep ride is more for the experience...you can taste the dust. All the scenery on the Western Discoverer is wonderful. My favourite was Bryce Canyon...just stunning.

Toot's it's absolutly true about not slowing down when in soft sand/dirt, you must maintain speed to get thru it or you will get stuck Big Grin

Just to let you know that the jeep drivers carry guns, supposedly to shoot snakes.
But we know better- we know the real reason is to shoot anyone who would dare to try and carry home a rock. Even a teeny one. Big Grin
Take care;

went on the TT jeep ride, and it was great, if you want a granny ride dont do this one, not really that rough tho, our tour ended up with 4 jeeps, and the drivers were one of the best that we had on the tour, would do it again

I recently returned from the Trailblazer tour and I opted to book my own jeep tour through Pink Jeep Tours (2 hours with no "cowboy" stop) as I wasn't interested in the "cowboy experience". It was bit pricier but it was worth it. As with any tour, I researched on internet. TT used Red Rock Jeep Tours.

Debra, we did the Pink Jeep tour also, I loved every second of it! The scenery in that whole area is unbelievable isn't it?

Hi Shannon - I loved Sedona - photographer's dream with all the rock formations! My jeep tour was like a private tour - only 3 of us and no other jeeps on the trail (early morning) so was a great experience! Would love to go back and spend more time there!

I was out in Arizona a few years ago for daughters graduation. Highly recommend Sedona, especially "outback," by Jeep. (We did a jeep tour in Aruba) Fantastic!

It's funny, because my husband and I go for rides up the mountains in our 4x4 all the time, once or twice a week. We had no idea that we would be so thrilled to actually pay someone else to take us...it was probably one of the most fun things we have ever done on a holiday.

I highly, highly recommend it. Any of the jeep tours.

Thinking of 4WD tours and the excitement.

I wonder if TT do tours to Cape York in Australia?

That is 4WD frontier style.

Is Cape York near you Penny1? That sort of a trip would entice my husband somewhat...he really wants to see kangaroos in the wild.
