You guys are reading my mind!

Sandra, we are planning on having scallops in Digby for sure and also going to Peggy's Cove. Now I know from Sicily that what you call cool is probably warm to me Smiler. Seriously though, I am expecting it to be cool because I know it's generally cooler on the coast. Thank you for your good wishes!

Luvtotravel, we are planning to go to Hopewell Rocks too. It sounds wonderful. Then we're taking the bridge over to PEI and the ferry back. My family is from the East Coast although I haven't been there in years so I know the pace is slower and that the driving will be slower. I spent a great deal of time planning the itinerary so we're aren't driving too much in one day. I hope I've planned enough time between stops, anyway.

I will reiterate that although I'm looking forward to this trip, it would have been a lot easier to book a coach tour. And probably more cost-efficient too.

A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

I must apologize to Aussiecol for hijacking this thread! Let me say that if you are planning to take a TT to East Coast Canada, you won't be disappointed!

I have just read this thread and I hope you are having a good time Jeannie.
When I lived in Montreal which is 15 years ago now, we often used to drive to New Brunswick since my sister lived there. They used to take their sail boat(30-35feet) to the Bras d'Or lakes. We were lucky to one time sail with there, it was lovely, we even went swimming, quite cold. In Baddeck there is a museum about Alexander Graham Bell and the development of telephone.
We have also cycled around the central portion of Prince Edward Island and cycled to Green Gables. The lobster dinners are great in the Maritimes and were much cheaper than in Maine.
I have been to Cape Cod a long time ago, it is lovely but can be very crowded in the summer. The New England coast is very nice too.
