My husband and I are planning this tour from 6/12 - 19th. When we're in Napa Valley, will we actually go to some of the wineries? On the 2nd day of the tour, we'll do sightseeing in the morning. Do we return to our hotel and then board the Napa Valley Wine Train in the evening? If anyone could help clarify it, I would certainly appreciate it.

According to the brochure, the tour will leave San Francisco early afternoon and proceed to Napa Valley. There will be a dinner served on the Napa Valley Wine Train that evening. This will be on Day 2 of your Northern California tour. This is a nice way to "cap of the day". This is usually a three hour ride. Hope you enjoy your trip.

I forgot to mention. According to the brochure, you'll be spending the night in Napa Valley at the Napa Valley Marriott.

Most tours get into the hotel sometime around 4pm or thereabouts giving you a chance to freshen up and ready for the next sightseeing tour, in this case, the Dinner Train. Depending upon the theme of the Dinner Train, it usually isn't a fancy setup. Your TD will advise you if it's going to be fancy or not. When you start packing for this tour, take along a dress or a suit that isn't too fancy that you can dress it up a little. Don't go over board. The dinner train is very similiar to the one that is on Cape Cod during the Summer months where people do dress up but it's not a real fancy night out. Hope you enjoy your dinner.
