This message is hopefully going to be read by SueGregg, but, if not, perhaps someone else could answer me.
I will be in Troy, Michigan (right outside of Detroit) from May 30th to June 4th & since I have never been in that part of the country, I was wondering about the weather. Is it hot & humid? Also, is it feasible to go the Henry Ford Musuem from Troy in one day visit? Thanks for any help. PEGASUS 3 |

We have a saying in Michigan that if you don't like the weather just wait an hour and it will change. By the end of May--early June it should be pleasant. It can get hot and humid--be prepared. We have had a late spring.
Yes, you can get to the Henry Ford easily from Troy especially if you avoid rush hour. It should take under an hour. It is not far distance wise, but you are traveling the metro area from the North suburbs to the south west The Henry Ford includes both the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. You could probably spend several days there, but if you move right along, you could see both in a day. It depends on what kind of tourist you are. I think this thread may be closed down because it isn't about TT (although some companies do have tours that end in Dearborn). Where are you staying in Troy? This message has been edited. suegregg: Thanks so much for the reply!
I am staying at the 'Marriott Fairfield' in Troy. I think that is the name - attending a family wedding - but, thanks to my (7) tours with Trafalgar, I have learned to always look for special sightseeing sites in any area in which I find myself. I was a little concerned about the humidity but so many people (not from Michigan) have told me, or no, not that part of the country! So I will be prepared. Appreciate your E-Mail address so I will not get 'booted' off the Board! Thanks, again. PEGASUS 3 |

suegregg: I want to send a belated thanks for the info about Troy & Henry Ford Musuem.
It was a lil humid - not bad - but thanks to you, I was prepared! Had one full day at Henry Ford Musuem & the factory assembly line. They were both beyond my expectations! Also, thoroughly enjoyed the 'Motown Musuem' in Detroit. Wonder if any of Trafalgar Tours go into that area? Lots to see! Thanks again, Pegasus 3 |
