Thankyou. We had fantastic trip, loved every moment on the 'Grand Tour of Canada'. Highlights for our trip included, snowing at Sun Peaks on my wifes birthday, Lake Louise, Victoria and the Holland America Cruise. I will endeavor to post a tour tale.

David ~ You bought back memories of my time in the Rockies, I saw my first black bear at Sun Peaks, did you go to Jasper, Jasper was my favourite....and Victoria....and Lake Louise.

I could easily do that tour again and enjoy it as much as the first time, if not more.

As I have said before I would love a holiday house at Victoria.

Missie,

Jasper followed Sun Peaks and was very scenic.

At Victoria we were very fortunate in being shown the sights by a wonderful couple that we had meet on our European Trip last year. After they took us to their home for an Aussie style barbecue.

Winnie- The Rainforest Sanctuary - how much you enjoy this depends on what climate you live in. If you are from a dry or non-forested area you will Love it. (I grew on the coast of the Pacific ocean, so it was rather like going in the back yard!) Its an easy pleasant walk and at the end you will get to feed some caribou. Watch for a beautiful plant outside of the gift shop called a Blue Poppy - it is spectacular! (for a plant lover like me anyway) Alaska was a wonderful vacation and we plan to return next year. Enjoy!

Missie Just to let you know, today was the weather to beat all days. It rained, then the wind blew, then it got sunny and warm, then cloudy and cool, then it warmed up again, then it got cold. We are having crazy weather here on the west coast. They keep trying to tell us it is not unusual, but you can't fool someone who has lived here all their life. Big Grin

MLT: Sounds like Melbourne weather, four seasons in one day. Big Grin I hope it improves quickly for you. How is Stanley Park these days, has it recovered from the battering it took 18 months ago.

MLT, thanks for the weather update. Luckily nothing dampens my mood when on holidays so I don't think it will be a problem although I'd like perfect weather.

David, different ship can't quite remember which one. I hear they are all good.

Missie, 24 hour daylight and I am a night owl!! Hope I go into daylight mode or I will surely miss out on lots.

Our son went to school on an exchange just out of Toronto a town called Ashville I think and we had a Canadian boy here the following year. Canadians are pretty special people from those I have seen so far. Looking forward to visiting their country. Only 5 weeks tomorrow till take off and guess who is so excited. Have started getting the packing underway. Anxiously awaiting tour documents. TA says she is only waiting on TT and Holland America now.

Missie We have renamed the month to Junuary. Today is is cool again and wet. Frowner We could do with a bit of sunshine to warm up the gardens. We still have spring flowers blooming. Eeker I had lovely weather in Melbourne when I was there in July many years ago. Mind you the locals looked at me funny, because I found it quite warm and they all looked cold.

MLT ~ I think you Canadians are quite hardened to the cold, whereas we are a bit soft, we think 15 degrees Celsius is freezing, I can remember wearing a light weight jacket in Europe in October and the Canadians were in shorts. Big Grin

Missie, Oh yes you sure made us want to go. Hubby loved the photo too. Thanks
MLT I remember our exchange student from Canada arriving at the end of April and going swimming in our pool. He spent the next 8 weeks in T-Shirts declaring it was really warm as we froze.
Back to work today for me after a weekend off my 18th shift before we leave but still hoping to get the last one off as "time owing" to me, that's if they can find staff for my shift.

Hi Idaho Sue
Thanks for your comments on the Rain Forest Sanctuary. I love rain forests there is none where I live in southern Queensland but I enjoyed the rain forests of North Queensland.

My hubby and I went on a two week camping tour of Cape York last year and got some fantastic photos the only thing I didn't see was a croc although they were there.
So I guess it will be worthwhile visiting a rain forest in Canada and getting some great photos.
