Thanks for the great tip about taking binoculars,
I'll have to start looking around for a good pair. I've been having a bit of a chuckle because when you said you had naturalists on the cruise, I read it as being naturists of the "nudist" variety. Couldn't figure out why they would be nude on a cruise in Alaska?? Someone better find me some of those blue pills you all talk about.

Holly you have more than two. I for one am eagerly awaiting your trip report. Canada and Alaska are two of my favourite destinations and I can assure you that I will read every word.

You will have a fantastic time. Smiler Big Grin

I am also planning a stopover in Honolulu next year, can you recommend any good hotels near the beach about one block back.

Try the Ohana Royal Islander. It's right behind the Outrigger Reef, which is on the beach. You can use the Outrigger facilities. It's on the end of the beach strip, but in no way is it out of the swing of things.

I forgot to mention that if you say you are with a company and have your own business card, you can ask for a corporate rate for your hotel room.

perseus: Doesn't your company have to have a corporate account with the hotel chain, or will they just give a corporate discount to anyone with a business card?

When I used the 'corporate rate' with that hotel, I only had to show them a business card with my name typed on it. They asked when I booked if I was with a company, and I just said yes.

Hi all
Just getting back into reading the BB after European Discoverer last year. Met a new friend on the BB several months before hand and still share the great time we had.
Decided one was not enough so off to Canada in May - yes Missie still a long time to wait - but part of the fun.Doing Air Canada via Hawaii.
Guess I just fancied going the opposite way to last time.Read some good info in other spots about what to at stop overs on the cruise to Alaska.
Love to know first hand what should not be missed around the Vancover area on our couple of free days. I planned my days in London last year with advice from here and it was great.

Hi Sandi

I am also doing Air Canada via Hawaii and I am also staying in Vancouver a couple of days after the trip. We depart Sydney on 16th May, when are you going?

You certainly are a busy girls on this TBB. Just noticed this after some serious searching
Leaving Sydney 18 May. Hawaii then tour from 20May. We are going backwards in the sense that we bus it to Banff/Lake Louise/Jasper then Goldleaf rail back to Vancover
I am currently trying to find the best way to get in touch with an old high school friend- no contact for 30+ years- living in Seattle area - changed name through marriage etc making it a bit tricky. They make it sound so easy if you pay up for a search.Would be a real highlight to catch up - since I'm in the neighbourhood!

Got it wrong already. that's why I only go on these trip'under care'
Leaving 10am 17 May.
TT to Jasper , back to Vancouver by train, then Holland line to Alaska.
We have had so many versions through our wonderful 'travel.com' lady. Also had to coordinate with joining a tour in London. As others have said brochures are not out so a lot of guess work is involved. All part of the fun i suppose!!

Sandie Too- Is there a Alumni Association for the high school you both attended? Maybe they could furnish her married name as well as current address. Many of the 2006 Great Britain and Europe Tours ARE POSTED on this website. From homepage select Destinations and then Type of Tour.
