Just a tad south of St Louis ... Cool

I thought it deserved its own thread ... Wink

Branson is a place worth a visit if you have the time - fun place for adults and kids - some great food joints - lots of shows - Dolly, etc - and a fab outlet/shopping centre - you could spend a day there alone.

Also some great hotels - at a good price. If you go try the Andy Williams restaurant. I guarantee you'll enjoy the night and the food.

NB: You will spend a few days there if you take TT's ROUTE 66 Tour.

We went to Branson two years ago. I wish I had your recommendation for Andy williams restaurant then--if it existed. Although I enjoyed the experience of the shows and the town, I think we picked the worse possible restaurants--one was a southern style food place heavily advertised. It was awful. Even the steak house was just so-so.
We drove and spent a delightful day driving the area around Branson.

Sue/Greg - yes we had steak and seafood from memory - both good. Wine was good and a fair price. The restaurant is not in the AW Theatre - but to the side. A nice spot. And, "Moon River" may have been playing ... Wink

As you say there are a few places - not all good ... Cool

AW's has been there for a few years now.

Now that's quite a trick, Saint M, you must have an amazing memory.

Its the oysters BC - and maybe the red wine - yes, yes, I know ... Cool

I have a habit of having steak though - and my better half likes her seafood. "Moon River" was just a guess though ... Wink

If it was Andy Williams' resto, it may well have been his biggest hit playing on the sound system. Sounds like a lovely occasion regardless. Smiler
