Robert: It's easier than it looks if you're male, by which I mean you are not burdened by the appliances we women sometimes drag along. If you absolutely don't want to do laundry, either you must be prepared to wear your outfits more than once, or pack 14 outfits. You are allowed a 30 inch suitcase, which is more than adequate for a 14 day trip. In late September you will need a warm jacket with a hood, and I would suggest you wear layers so that you can peel off if the weather is good. If you opt to wear your things more than once, take along more of what goes next to your skin, ie T-shirts or shirts, so that at least you can change that every day. Outer sweaters can be worn more than once. Underwear is easy to hand wash in the hotels and will usually dry overnight. It's best to stick to two or three basic colors for maximum mix and match-ability. I'm sure the men on the board will be able to tell you how you can get 14 days wear out of very few garments. They are the experts at packing light!

Robert, we took the same tour last August and it was great. I took two pairs of long pants and three pairs of shorts. Shorts for daytime and riding. Long for the cool nights in the mountains. Need a good pair of walking shoes and at that time a jacket/hood and a sweater.Layering is the key. It will be cool in the mtns for sure.I didn't take enough shirts for 14 days but I knew I would be buying some souvenier shirts on the trip to wear to make up the days. Some you can wear over, also. Good luck and have fun.

Not sure exactly where your tour will take you, but we live an hour from Banff, Alberta & I wouldn't leave home without a pair of gloves. Especially if you are coming to Canada, it has the potential to snow (especially in the higher elevations).
Good luck!

Robert, sounds like you are going on the same trip I am considering. I just haven’t settled on a date yet, but sometime in September. If you are fair skinned, and never been out west before, remember this: Sunscreen. The sun can be intense in all parts of the west and will burn you even if it is overcast. A hat is always nice. I prefer a baseball cap, but if you burn easily you may want to use one that covers your ears.

As for packing: I plan on taking enough under clothes to hopefully avoid doing laundry. Outer clothes can be worn over and there is always the souvenir shirts you buy along the way. You may also want to include a windbreaker or a long sleeve shirt you can wear like a breaker to keep the sun off or keep the chill out in the evenings. Plus they fit well in a light backpack or can be tied around your waist when you are not wearing it.

How many are traveling in your party? This trip will be my first guided tour and my first to go solo. I have been on a few trips, but always had a friend along. So I am excited to add more to my adventures for this year and meeting new people.

Happy travels
Frank
