I will fill you in on Savannah once I get back home. I am off to a conference there next week. I am looking forward to seeing the city.

Thanks MLT - I would appreciate that, you are a treasure.

Now have you got Stanley Park fixed and the Butchard Gardens ready to burst into bloom for me on 28th May??? I also want the weather to be fairly warm because I will have a lot of warm weather clothes in my case from the California part of the trip. I havn't got room for coats and sweaters.

Sorry, CA2, they are already in bloom. By then you may be lucky and have the roses blooming in Stanley Park. You will still see a lot of the damage from the wind storm we had in November. It is still quite visible.
Butchard Gardens are full of flowers whatever the time of the year. They are beautiful to walk through and you will enjoy them. Hopefully by then the rain will quit. We have had torrential rain the last few days and need a drying out period. Maybe you will bring the good weather Wink

MLT,

If I strike any rain in Canada I'm going to bottle it and bring it home.

Colleen, you will need a pretty big bottle for that, especially in Vancouver. Big Grin

Missie,

You have got me thinking that Vancouver is the 'soggy' capital of the world.

Do you mean to say that Grouse mountain won't be 'grouse' because we won't see anything through the rain???

Missie,

I have 3 days in Vancouver at the end of the trip and my friend Janice from Edmonton (met on tour in Switzerland) is flying down to spend these days with me. Part of the plan for this time is a day tour to Grouse Mountain and the Capilano bridge. Whether or not I/we walk across it is still in contention - I will give this fine example of Canadian engineering the benefit of my eagle-eye first and make a decision from there. I've walked across the suspension bridge in Launceston, but that is probably small-fry in comparison.
I might make Janice walk across it to prove her Canadianism while I watch !!

Shannon: I wasn't able to do the Capilano bridge because it was pouring with rain......how unusual for Vancouver. Big Grin But I do intend to go back and do it one day, I just don't know if my eyes will be open, I am a bit of a chicken when it comes to suspension bridges.

Missie,

Excuses, excuses!!!!!

Any word on who my Canada TD will be as yet???

I've tossed the ST travel bag out as it is a back-pack - is this what you got? I will still have my TT travel bag with me from the US part of the trip (with printing removed as usual) so I will stick with that.

Colleen dear, you'll know when I know. Smiler

I didn't use the bag either, I have a carryon that slides over the handle of my main luggage, that way I am only pulling one bag. It also fits in the overhead rack on the bus.

How long before you depart.
