I have stopped at 3 or 4 hotels in Vancouver but not that particular one.
In looking at the map of its location it does seem to be fairly centrally located being roughly equal distances to the COnventiuon Centre/Cruise Terminals, Gastown and Granville. A little bit further to Stanley Park. Century Plaza
Also from the photos and flash downloads the rooms look quite good.
However as I said, I haven't stopped there myself.

Thanks Dragons, I had a look at TripAdvisor and some of their reports were great while others were not so great, I think it all comes down to the room you are allocated and the service you receive.

Century Plaza is quite an old hotel - pretty shabby on the outside, but famous for its world-class spa which celebs fly into town to receive. Other than that, it's not very notable. If you're looking for a central location and you've got a medium-high budget, I'd go for Sutton Place or Hotel Vancouver, which are primo spots close to the hub of Vancouver's nightlife, restaurants, shopping and architecture (Robson St, Granville St and Burrard St). The Four Seasons is also a couple of blocks away, closer to the financial district. If you want to be oceanside and get a good view of the harbour, definitely go for the Pan Pacific - the view is breath-taking.

Thank you for your reply, I had checked out the Sutton Place and the Hotel Vancouver (Fairmont) but because we will be staying there in June (high season) these hotels are frightfully expensive even if I book them on the internet.
The Century Plaza was a little more affordable and as I will only be sleeping there I thought it would be OK (I hope). Its always good to hear what the locals have to say.

I've got family out in Vancouver so I've never had to worry about accomodations. Nevertheless, I would recommend staying at the Hampton Inn Hotel. Conveniently located in downtown on Robson Street and reasonably priced. All the reviews I read about this hotel has been positive. Take a look at their web site and draw up your own conclusions. Hampton is a member of the Hilton family of hotels.

Thank you very much for the information. I should have planned my trip a few weeks earlier, the hotel price difference between May and June is staggering in some hotels.

Hampton Inn & Suites is usually below $200. I would suggest you book the room now, as this is one of the more popular hotels in Vancouver. It is commonly booked up in the summers. If you find a better deal, you can always cancel the booking. If you wish to cancel, please do so by 6pm, hotel local time, on the day of arrival to avoid cancellation penalties. Hampton Inn & Suites cost more then Century Plaza but you'll get more consistent service and amenities.
