I am thinking of doing the following tours in 2008: Scenic Parks Explorer, East Coast USA & Canada, Enchanting Maritimes, Best of Canada's West. I would love to read a journals about these tours or any tips would be appreciated.

Uluru: I don't have travel tales ore journals but I can tell you from personal experience our Canadian maritime provinces are a joy. Not simply beautiful in their scenery but also because of the nicest, friendliest people in the world--seriously. I'm hoping biotrav who's from out there will catch your enquiry and fill you in further. Our Western provinces are beautiful in a different, majestic way. I always consider myself fortunate to live in the best country I know. It sounds like a wonderful tour and welcome to the board, Uluru.

Uluru, I doing the Scenic Parks Explorer (leaving May 14th). I do plan to post a travel journel when I return. I hope it will help you.

Brenda, you are so right about the Canadian Maritimes! We went to Nova Scotia on our own and just loved it! The scenery, the food, and the people are wonderful. Cape Breton Highlands were my favorite along with Peggy's Cove.

Welcome to the Bulletin Board Uluru.

You don't say where you are from and your name has me curious. Do you live in the Uluru - Kata Tjuta area?

Thank you all for your comments.
Sandra (SRD), I have been reading you wonderful journal of The Grand Alpine tour, loved it. I will be very interested to read your journal about the Scenic Parks tour.
We are trying to decide where to travel in 2008. In 2006, we toured parts of Europe, Scandinavia and did a self driving tour through Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Norfolk areas of England and in 2005 we did an extensive tour of the British Isles and Ireland and had a fantastic time both years.
We are now trying to decide where to travel in 2008. We would both love to visit beautiful Canada and my husband would love to travel all through the areas on the Scenic Parks tour fo USA. But we would also love to visit Russia, the Artic Circle and northern Norway and Vienna and Prague and surrounding areas. What a decision!!

Dragons, No I don't live at Uluru or Kata Tjuta (it is just a place of outstanding beauty for me and has a special place in my heart). Brisbane is my home town.

Uluru is the aboriginal name for Ayers Rock & Kata Tjuta is the Aboringinal name for the Olgas. They are both in the Northern Territory in Australia.

It is a pity that it has become so commercialized around the Rocks. I was there before they built the large resorts. I remember the museum (tiny) that was run by an Aboriginal. He told us quite the stories about people climbing the rock. We were glad that we went to the museum after being at the Rock and not before.

Dragons, it looks like a spectacular place! Are there any Aboriginal people left who still live in the bush?

Mid Life Traveler, you are lucky you could see it before it became so popular.

Do the Aboriginals still have that art gallery in Alice Springs. Every time I walk up my stairs I look at the painting that I purchased there.
