Getting ready to leave on this tour on June 13th. Do we need Canadian money for Montreal and Quebec or will all places take US dollars?

Canadian. Quite colourful ... Smiler

Quebec is wonderful R. Very like Paris in many ways. Try walking around as much as possible - down to the ferniculaar (sp) and all about. You can get it before you go or from a hole in the wall. You might find places that will take $US, but the rate won't be that good ... Wink

You will definitely need Canadian money. You may find the odd shop that will take US money, but if they do the exchange rate will likely be very bad.

Canada has many ATM's everywhere so you will have no trouble getting CAD$ wherever you are.

Thanks for the info. We pick our tour docs up tomorrow and leave on the 14th July. Can't wait. A bit nervous have never used an ATM overseas before but am going to give it a go.

Aussiebird. Use Canadian while in Canada, because the rate restaurants and stores give you is very poor.
