The travel wallet is too bulky and heavy for me. I read everything in it, but only take separately the necessary things like the itinerary, tickets etc. The helpful hints I leave at home.
On my first TT trip, one couple had the document wallet with them on the bus and usually out on the tray. I only hoped their passports weren't in it. And if traveling as a couple, you certainly don't need two.

rainbow19 - you are crackin' me up here! Big Grin

You are not STRANGE ... everything that the four us are bringing on this trip is brand spankin' new! From pretty little scarves around your neck right down to the little sox to put inside our walking shoes .. and everything in between INCLUDING the jammies! Big Grin
A very long while back I googled ALL the hotels as well .. and have a printout of each in my little (ah-hem .. BIG travel folder Wink) so I could share all those spicy bits of info at our travel meetings with the gang! Smiler
Google Earth is cool eh?!?! Peg got me addicted to that for about 3 days solid!

scottie: Big Grin You were born funny did you know that?! Big Grin

suegreg: Soooo .. what you are saying is that if we just brought one wallet per two of us this would be a very WISE idea? OR one for the FOUR of us?!?!? Your input is invaluable on this one! Smiler Thank you!

We never bring the wallet. I had my airline tickets (not really tickets anymore) and any vouchers along with my passport in my neck pouch. Several copies of the itinerary were scattered around in bags, but the hotel numbers were in my neck pouch and my husband's inside the waist wallet. Any other potentially valuable info in the documents, I copied on smaller pieces of paper. I think I did take the telephone card, but I never call home. My daughters and I operate on the "no news is good news" theory. They had the list of hotels and phone numbers. Fortunately I did not have any circumstances such as a sick relative where I felt I had to check in.
I weigh everything and decide if it is necessary for me. No hairdryer for me, but one or two paper backs are a priority.

As for the itinerary, I wonder why I make copies. I always read and read and dream over my trip so much, I can recite it from memory. I bet you can too.

I do always use the wallets. I do also take out unecessary stuff though. I just find the wallet useful for the flying part of the travel. It would definitely be too heavy to carry on and off the bus (I will keep vlauables etc. close to me - don't worry). I also spread photocopies around different places.

I bet you guys are a lot warmer than us today. The forecats high is 6 degrees C with snow to low levels - ooooooh I hope it snows!!!!

suegreg: If I end up reading them as many times as rainbow19 I'm SURE to know them by heart! Big Grin
Okay .. once we get them we'll decide what to bring and what not to bring - I have handy dandy plastic see-through folder thingies that are as light as a feather .. was going to stash all that paperwork in there and keep what's necessary on me! Thank you for your experience in this department suegreg! Smiler

rainbow19: While you wish for snow ... we most certainly do not! Big Grin A very humid 25 degrees here today in oh so slightly rainy Toronto. Cool

I can imagine snow would be like a swear word over there! We get one or two falls most winters but it doesn't often settle. This year we have already had a few which is very unusual. The problem for us is that when we get enough snow to settle the whole city effectively shuts down because we are not equipped to deal with it. People in rural areas were without power for up to 3 weeks after the last fall because the power lines weren't built to withhold such a snow load. I still like to see it here in the city (especially if it gets me a day off work) but I don't wish it upon the famers because lambing is just beginning.

rainbow19,

That is correct! Snow ... bad bad word! Eeker
Wish we had more snow days when there is SUPPOSE to be snow! Wink
Our city is pretty much a well fine tuned machine .. snow plows out at the sight of a speck of snow. It's been a long time since we had to stay inside because of the roads.

You've heard our good news today right?!?!
Our documents have been released and they are on their way to our TA! Pretty soon we'll be gazing upon the so so shiny wallets busting full of information to read over and over and over and over again! Can't catch up to you though! Big Grin

That would be awesome. I have seen her perform (Ony two songs) whenI managed to score tickets to the American Music Awards in Los Angeles. She actually owns a big famr in Wanaka here in New Zealand (about 4 hours drive from Christchurch) - she apparently spends about 3 or 4 months of the year there.
