Hi Sandry, Like you I am also heading to France solo, but am doing the Best of France tour instead. I will be there May 31-June 13. You shall be seeing a lot more of Provence, and especially the Pont du Gard which unfortunately my tour does not visit, but I look forward to hearing all about your trip. If you are as excited as I am, our departures can't come fast enough!

Kitchen Wench: Going on the European dream tour in late May and wonder if there is anyone else going. Sure would like to connect with another traveller on this same tour as I will be travelling solo. Purvis

Hi Purvis, It seems like there shall be a lot of solo women out and about in Europe. As of yet, I haven't heard from anyone else going on the Best of France when I am going so am trying not to get discouraged. Like you I am out there to have lots of fun and enjoy it all regardless. The European Dream looks great, and I see that you will be in Paris for a couple of days too. Wouldn't it be cool if my tour hit Paris at the same time? When I make it to the Eiffel Tower, I shall call out for you...PURVIS, ARE YOU THERE?

Hi Kitchen Wench: Would liked to have been able to say "here I am " when you called out at the Eiffel Tower but unfortunately it seems you'll be in Paris on the 11-12 of June then home. I'll be flying home from London on the 8th so I guess we'll just have to find out how each of us enjoyed our solo holidays through the web. I was really looking forward to this trip with my youngest son until he cancelled out on me due to a career change .Had thought of not going myself but that thought was just too overwhelming so here I go once again solo. This will be my 3rd trip to Europe on my own. The other two turned out fine so no reason to believe this one will not also. Purvis

Purvis, it is disappointing that our loved ones can not join us on our adventures. My husband is unable to come this time and again in September if I choose to go somewhere than.(also due to changes in job. I have a number of weeks holiday every year and usually ask friends or family to join me when my feet get itchy. My sister was unable to come last year and threw out the suggestion that I go alone so my stubborn self and I went off to Ireland last fall and managed quite well. Here! here! to strong-minded women and I wish you a wonderful trip and many more!

Kitchen Wench: Maybe it's because we both come from Ontario. I left 15yrs ago with my late husband to take retirement in BC but then he got termminaly ill so moved to Alberta to be nearer to my sons. Still think of Ontario as my home. Perhaps the cold winters and hot summers have something to do with creating strong women. Purvis
