Hello irish Devil and welcome to the bulletin board. Smiler You might like to post your specific questions under "Travel Advice" you may get more answers there. If you go to the FAQ section on Trafalgar's Home page they do discuss tipping there, you are of course welcome to post any questions you may have here as well. Smiler

I have posted a link to the tour tales where you can browse through the Ireland and Scottish tours.

Tour tales.

Hi Irish Devil, please don't worry too much about finding your way around, please just ask what it is you want to know, we can answers any questions from here.

Can you tell me which country you are from as that helps with giving information, plus, I will be able to post links for you to go straight to where you need to get answers.

You mentioned tipping and money in your original post. Well as far as tipping is concerned you will receive more information on this when you receive your tour documents. It is normally US$4 per day for the TD and US$2.50 per day for the Driver, this may have changed to Euro's not sure but your tour documents will confirm this. It is up to you which currency you use to pay this, I would be inclined to use Euro's.

As far as money is concerned I normally take two credit cards (just in case one fails) an ATM card to access cash and some cash, in this case I would take Euro’s although this is not necessary as you can access cash through an ATM machine at the airport when you land.

One important thing I would strongly recommend you take is a money belt to hold your passport, airline ticket, extra credit card and cash.

Please feel free to ask any further questions you may have.
Smiler

Below I have listed the FAQ page from the Canadian website, this may be of some help to you.

One thing I think worth mentioning is that it is not a good idea to carry too much cash. There are plenty of ATM's to be found & best to just withdraw as you go + use your c/card as required. Now how often or for what amount you use your credit card is a personal thing. I prefer to use it whenever it will be accepted thus limiting the amount of cash I need to carry. Cool

What a lovely tour you have chosen, I am sure you are going to have a wonderful time. Smiler

Missie & Dimpz: Thank you for your suggestions. You have been very helpfull and I appreciate your comments concerning money matters.Their are various ammounts mentioned in my Travel documents when it comes to suggested tips ranging from 3 pounds a day for TD and 2 pounds a day for driver, $4US a day for TD and $2.50 for Driver with $1 for local guide and finally 4 pounds a day for TD,2.50 for driver and 2.00 for local guide.
The last suggestion has a monetary designation I do not recoginize but I think it is in pounds.
There is another suggestion under the heading of Team in UK of 3 per day (TD),2 per day (driver) and 1 per day (guide) I assume that means pounds. As you can see they are all over the map so I will just have to do my best.
Thanks again

Oh my goodness Confused now that has to be the most confusing tipping information I have ever read. I think the last amount you mentioned were probably in Euro’s, did it have this sign € next to the amounts.

I think if I were you I would just do whatever you fell comfortable with. Smiler

Oh now that is just plain silly & far from helpful for new travelers to TT.

The best advice I can offer is the recommended amounts that I know of are 4 euro per day for TD & 2 euro for drivers. Please bear in mind these are merely recommendations, but are a good guideline for you.
