Hey there Minniemg, my bf and I will be going on the European break tour on the 21st of sept!
It is all very exciting! Which country are you from? Have you done a tour with Trafalgar before? The months are flying by aren't they only another 7 months to go! Big Grin

ooo i am also from sydney!!
I haven't done a trafalgar tour before, but i have been to italy on a school exchange thing for a month, so it's time my bf and I saw more of Europe..its calling us!! Razzer

I do know ppl who have done tours with Trafalgar (not breakaway) and all reviews are fantastic, and you get to stay in pretty nice places.

I wonder how many other ppl will be going on this tour, at least its a guarenteered tour!!

Will you just be doing the tour and then heading home or are you staying in europe for extra time?

Wow Sydney! Its a small world!

I'll be in London for about a week afterwards! I'm trying to plan all that at the moment, trying to figure out how much i can fit into a week! How about you guys?

With it being guaranteed it will probably be pretty full? But at least they can't really move it! Is anyone else out there booked on this one?

Well we will be in London for a couple of days after, then into Milan for another week. How expensive is London!!! the hotel rooms are tiny and you pay for 2 star place there what you would for a 4 star hotel here!
So what you made you decide to pick the Trafalgar Euro break trip? Smiler

Where abouts are you staying in London? I haven't booked anything yet don't really know where to stay. Near Victoria Station maybe? Know what you mean about being expensive!

I picked the trip because it seems to be a good overall Europe trip, like it goes to all the main places. And it was just the right length! I wanted to stear away from Contiki and the 'drunks' but still wanted to travel with people my own age and my travel agent recommended that these would be better - less 'drunks'!!
What made you guys choose this one?

Hey, well we had the same thoughts exactly! We picked the tour to stay away from the constant drunks (minimal is good lol) however wanted to be around people our age! and trafalgar has a little more luxury to it! Razzer

And we picked the euro break coz it goes to places we wanted to see and a good length of time, we were torn for a little while as we wanted to see greece and austria, but we will do that another time!

We are going to stay in Paddington so we are going to have to catch a train after being dropped off after the tour.

transport is also expensive but they have special passes (like Oyster card) however it might not be worth it as maybe we'll just walk, but London is quite large so that will be a lot of walking LOL so i have no idea what to do yet, probably will just play it by year.

So are you working or studying or is this a holiday before that all begins?

Great minds think alike! Glad to see someone is on the same page as me!

I have been told about this pass, its called the LondonPass, which includes entry into a heap of places and you can get it with travel. So if you are doing some sightseeing it might make it cheaper. See www.londontown.com

I'm working and doing a post-grad diploma at the moment, but the study will hopefully be done before i go away. How bout you?

When do you fly out of Sydney? Who are you flying with? I'm going with Singapore and fly on the 18th Sept.

Hey well what another coincidence we are also flying Singapore!! but we are leaving on the 19th.

Yeah ive seen the london pass website, it has some good freebies and discounts.

My partner and I both work however i am trying to find another job at the moment so hopefully they wont mind me taking 5 weeks off!! lol

Now we have a dilemma of washing clothes, and how much to take, but from experience you only wear half of the clothes you take so im having a suitcase dilemma aswell and because we are going during autumn there's the possbility of frequent weather changing so those are my issues at the moment, any challenges for you at the moment? Smiler

Well i went to North Italy in the month of september and it was cold mornings and nights but warm days, however as the weather pattern seems to be a little unpredictable these days we're just going to have to prepare for all seasons! In one of the travel brochures i read October in Europe has a high rainfall, so fingers crossed that changes by the time we go!

So which country are you looking forward to most seeing?

Yep fingers crossed for good weather! Maybe if we take umbrellas and jackets it won't rain! Ha-ha.

I've always wanted to see the eiffel tower so i'm excited about Paris. But i'm really looking forward to Rome!
How about you?

Well I am looking forward to Monaco to see Monte Carlo, and to see Amsterdam, however now they have taken down the red light district!! lol i can't believe we are going to miss out! hehe, however i am sure they have just all moved underground! I would love to see Rome again and i also can't wait to see Switzerland, my bf had only one wish and that was to be in Germany for Oktoberfest, so he can't wait to be there then.

So as this is your first time out of the country have you travelled within the country?

Amsterdam without its red light district! That's interesting. I'm working for a dutch guy at the moment who is pretty conservative and he said thats one of the top places people visit.

Will we be in Germany when Oktoberfest is on? I hadn't even looked into what was on when we go!

Yeah I've done i heap of travel round Australia. I've been everywhere except for WA and Tassie. How about you? Where have you been?
