Okay ... so I'm not going crazy then! Will the thought of it wear off over the next 216 days? I have already made an excel spreadsheed itinerary for the four of us which includes the brochure day by day information, the hotel information, all the optionals (2004/2005 that are on this forum) along with an idea of what to wear each day ... so we just take what is needed and not overpack. We can also figure out what we still need .. and it seems I still have 216 days left even after all of that! Oh my ... I need help or I may be WAY beyond it! Eeker

I leave on may 29th - so i may be out on my count

Tammie - I have a spread sheet with what i doing each day, where i will be staying, what i will be doing, how much i have spent and how much spending money i need.

I can tell you EXACTLY what i will be doing on day 50 of my trip. Big Grin I have put more than i can do each say, so if something is closed etc i already know what else i can do.

The more $$$ the better, so you wont have to miss anything.

I think we have 132 days to go and you have a 136. I have just counted them again but it is easy to get lost half way into the count.

You sound very well organised with your spread sheet etc. Half the fun is the planning.

I have a question on the date and time shown on the posts. Is that London time? Because according to my clock it is only 10:24PM on the 23rd yet the posting shows the 24th at 3:19???? Confused

wanderingwombat: Okay .. that would be in reference to my SECOND excel spreadsheet which has all the finances broken down to show how much money is put aside for each day ie; tipping, any cab or transporation fares, meals on our own, spending, souvenirs, phone calls, room charges, water and other drinks throughout the day ... the four of us sat down and worked through all of this and came up with what was good for each of us and then from that calculated how much Euro to buy each therefore calculating how much extra Canadian cash we all needed to save to accomodate all of that and yada yada yada .... then there are all the post trip expenses ... developing film, transferance of video, photo album purchasing - it is never ending but it's all FUN!

Ohhhhhhhh and for the record ... 215 more to go!

159 sleeps for me Smiler (actually, I have 159 days, 18 hours, and 30 minutes until my plane takes off!). My ever-so-clever computer guru husband made me a little countdown clock that is in the lower right hand corner of my screen - so with a quick glance, I know just how long I have to go!

Oh, and one more thing. I found a relatively painless way to save spending $$ for my trip. Every time I go to the grocery store (which with 2 teenagers, is quite often), I get extra $$ back, and bring it home and put it in my money can. I've sworn off lunch and coffee out (at least during the work week), too. I still take the same amount of money out of the bank each week, but stick my lunch/coffee budget in "the can" before I have a chance to spend it. Any extra money I end up with goes straight into "the can". I'm taking my lunch, and using the coffee pot at work, instead of spending the $$ going out. I've only been doing this since New Years, and so far, I've got about $200 put aside Smiler Every little bit helps, right??

Absolutely CarolT because I have been saving every single penny, nickel, dime and quarter I find around the house ... if it's on the loose .. it's mine! Loonies and toonies as well .. I have managed to save over $300 in rolled coin since the beginning of December. Just yesterday I rolled the pennies .... $11.00 worth! 1,100 pennies is nothing to sneeze at! I've also scored about $22 in laundry finds from my husbands pants before I throw them in the washing machine! Big Grin It all goes in my glass jar right beside me here and I watch it like a hawk! Wink
