Well I figured I might post this now as we are in the midst of moving before we embark on our TT which starts on 3 August....presume that we are not going to get that dreaded cancellation call seeing that we are just over a week away from our tour date Big Grin I will probably have very limited internet access for the next week or so (we leave for London next Tuesday) so this will probably be my last post for a while as I am not expecting to be online until we get back to Oz in early September.

Thanks for all of the valuable advice and support over the last few months (esp during the cancellation concerns) and I will post on here again once we are back in Oz Smiler

For everyone who is travelling, I do hope you have a safe and enjoyable time Smiler

Have a great trip We leave a day ahead of you and I doubt that I will be on the BB until after we get back in early September.

Luck with the moving, experience tells me that a successful move requires some luck.

Thanks everyone - we are now back in Pz - surrounded by lots of boxes and wondering when we are going to have a normal life again Roll Eyes

Our European Festival tour was interesting - we had a good time as a family and we enjoyed the places we visited but the tour group had us wondering at times whether we wanted to go on tour again. The group just did not gel at all and there were issues at every stage of the tour - some exteremely pedantic and some just untolerable - like racist comments being made, silly drunken behaviour. Seat rotation did not go run smoothly at all for various reasons - the most common being people moving to different seats. As we had been on 2 other tours before, we had a pretty good understanding that this was not the norm (and this was confirmed by the TD - who interestingly said that it is the August groups that always seem harder to manage - every year and no one can really work out why) but there were days when we just did not want to have to deal with various people in the group - this was really sad as we never had any issues with our other tours and it was just this tour group that we found harder to deal with.

Anyway, as mentioned above, we had a great time as a family and really enjoyed the places we visited - loved everywhere we visted but would love to revisit Switzerland, Rome and Paris. Celebrated my birthday in Paris with a Moulin Rouge dinner which was fab. Did most of the optionals - just could not do more ruins (done heaps in Turkey and Jordan so we were ruined out) and a couple of castles though we did do Versaille and Monets Giverney - which was just amazing. All in all - we had an interesting time - lots of souveniers and books (which I said I would not buy but did in the end) and now I need to find place on my not so many walls to put them on - esp my cuckoo clock Big Grin

So how have all of you been? Smiler

Hello, SunnyinDubai, and welcome back.

I'm sorry your tour was not all you had hoped it would be. It's a funny thing about coach tours - if you're lucky, you get a great group of people but sometimes there is a group that just doesn't "click". I've had it happen once but I must say that most of the time, it does work and works very well.

It's unfortunate that you had some ignorant people who made racial comments and/or got drunk. That is just not acceptable behaviour.
