Day 1 & 2 were very good, and this looks like a leisurely tour. Looking forward to more.

Enjoying your tale and waiting for the next installment to bring back the memories of the wonderful tour we did in 2005.How was the Hotel in Frankfurt? We stayed at a different one but I am going on a tour in November that stays at the Sheraton.

Sandry, through your writing, I feel as tho' I'm on the tour! btw, because of BB advice, I packed a plastic spoon and fork. Only used them once, but was glad I had them.

I like the idea of a DOWN day, although you must be extra-ordinarily fit to have managed so much.

Thanks for the tales. I am thinking of this tour for next April 2009. Are you going to post the rest of the days?
Another question: can you please tell me how much were all the optionals together if you decide to take them all? I usually take all the optionals and would like to budget for them.
Thanks
Saki

Neice 57 The hotel was quite nice. It was the Sheraton Offenbach. The bed was wonderful. People in reception were extremely helpful and polite. There is a nice little park next door. The breakfast was absolutely outstanding- so much choice. Hope you enjoy it.

The optionals offered on the Grand Alpine were about 500 E We were only a small group of 22 and so some of our Optionals had to be cancelled as we did not have near enough people interested to run them. I will mention the optionals in my tour tale so keep reading. I am going to start Day 3 now. You will just love this tour especially if you get Uli Hagen as TD

Sandry,
very keen on hearing more about this tour. Sounds very nice. There are a lot of places on this tour that are of great interest to me.
My husband's father and grandmother came from Heidelberg, and it's a place I would like to visit someday. Thank you for taking me there via your tour tale!

Making every second count.

The optionals were not so expensive but I understand that not everybody wanted to do them so it is a shame that they had to cancel some. Since you had only 22 people on the tour, was it a GUARANTEED tour?

Sandry what interesting reading. Your tale is so detailed. You remembered so many things, and of course my eyes opened wide when you mentioned cuckoo clocks. I bought a cuckoo clock in Oberammergau which is a quaint place in Germany. Looking forward to more of your tale.
