Day 3.~ Waterford~Kenmare Bay.(Kerry.)

After a hearty breakfast,we visit the Waterford Crystal Factory. It was amazing to see all the people busy with their own unique craftmanship. From the glass-blowers,the cutters and so on. They made the most beautiful things. Pots, vases, seahorses and many many more beautiful things. You must see the chandeliers and the Big Ben Clock made entirely from crystal. The clock was about 5 feet tall. Absolute breathtaking.
Our TD told us about a lady that arrived at the bus with this big box. When asked what it was she told him "a chandelier off course".After his shock they put it on the bus(luckily it was a small group)and there they go.
From there we went to Cork and the Blarney-castle.What a magnificant place with its beautiful gardens and ancient buildings and bridges. The grass and all the flowers.Ah and then THE CASTLE.It was a long wait as there is a long row up to the kissing stone. We bought our tickets and slowly up we went.Around and aroun we went up the narrow stairway a step at a time.Everyone use the time to start chatting to the people in front and at the back of each other. Not to long and you know from where they are, where are they going, what they do,how many children,grand-children about their own parents and grandparents. There bankbalance and even about their last will and testament, expecialy when we are nearer the top of the castle and the famous kissingstone. EekerAll the waiting is worth the while. On your back you go while some guy that look weird hold on to your legs.So ladies please shave those legs, even if they are bony and paint your toenails as that may be the last they saw of you before you went over.I always said "DO IT WITH GRACE AND A WAVE". So over your head and neck went and you gi

ve the stone a big sloppy kiss.(don,t think who did it before you, what sickness did they have, did they lick it,slobber over it even urinate over it(that I want to see).Just enjoy it and you will feel how the gift of the gab are flowing through you.(some silly people will think it is a sickness from the stone).I told stories all the way down, through the 2 tours and even now. Roll Eyes However dont kiss it twice ever as it will cancel the GIFT. Frowner

Rex, your travel tale is a scream. You need to publish it as an alternative to Fodor and Steeves Big Grin.

Thanks for more of you wonderful story and for the advice on our hairy legs. Never thought of that and I'm sure I'd get caught out.

Rex ~ You are a much braver person than me, there is no way I would be kissing that stone. Love your tour tale. Wink

Rex - thanks so much for the warnings! Big Grin And I'd add a few words to another of your mottoes; "DO IT WITH GRACE AND A WAVE AND A BIG GRIN" ! It's great fun, reading your tale.

Loving your tale. I didn't venture up to kiss the Blarney Stone but if you had been in front of me in line, I'm sure I would have enjoyed it.
