Dot, thank you soooo much for your report. I was away for a couple of weeks and have finally finished reading your wondeful report.

Were there any singles on your tour? I'm wondering how the cruise portion works out as a single traveller. I always pay the single supplement. Do they get the same rooms as everyone else on the ship?

Jeannie, I will answer for Dot, if she doesn't object. Our son travelled as a single, and his room was the same as ours throughout the whole trip. He was only down the hall from us once, and one night, in Delphi, we actually had adjoining rooms with a connecting door. It made things so much easier.

There were no other singles on our tour, but there were three women traveling as a triple. They ended up getting suites a couple of times, but really suffered on the cruise, as their cabin was the same as ours, with one upper berth. Made us glad we had payed the single supplement instead of travelling as a triple.

So I don't know whether my son got the same sort of room because we were travelling together, or because all but one hotel was "newer" (by European standards) so had more uniformity in standard rooms.

Mrs. Toad: That sounds like the setup we had in Delphi, too, only we were in the room adjoining our then recently married son and his new bride. There was no actual wall between the rooms, only a partition that didn`t quite reach the wall on each side, leaving a two inch gap that allowed no privacy. We tried to change rooms for obvious reasons but couldn`t. Most uncomfortable for all of us. But WHAT a fabulous view from that hotel. It was unforgettable, spectacular.

We had a couple of singles on our tour, but they didn't do the cruise portion of the tour. So I can't comment on that part. But as far as I know they had no problem with their hotel rooms and there where no complaints.
