Thought you might be interested in the beginnings of a monastery, just down the road from us.
A piece of land. A couple of old buildings, and a group of dedicated nuns, Known as the Tyburn Nuns.
They've started creating the gardens around the buildings. Already, they have two rooms for anyone needing a `retreat` from the outside world.
You have to contact them if you want to visit, and they will lay on a lunch, for which you may give a donation. Or not. Whatever your desire.
Although it wasn't a bright day for our visit, the surrounding country and lake made up for it !
Pretty remote for the time being. Eventually they will get a good road in. But for our trip, we had to walk up the winding hill. Our bus not able to get a grip on the gravel paths.
But, that added to the day.
Mrs Nation has booked in for a few days retreat in January.... " I'm not that bad to live with !!! Honestly !! Confused
Once again,it's on..www.youtube.com/tokoroatoni

Harmony ! The photos and overcast weather didn't do it justice, and I'm sure , given a couple of years, and the way that those nuns worked, it's going to be a peace of paradise.
Thank goodness our crowd had a sense of humour though. The road in and out at the moment is a cattle track covered with gravel. The driver manage to get our bus around the winding and hilly lane. But one attempt at getting back out ???? Everyone that could walk, climbed to the top of the hill, and the nuns got their farmer neighbour to tow the bus .
I took several pictures of the ladies sat waiting for the bus. Turned them into a panoramic picture, so that everyone was included. Then gave it the title... " Waiting for God !" ( Title of a British comedy!)
I then printed and posted it on the church notice board !!! The priest, waiting to start the service wondered what all the laughing was about !!
As I said, they were a great crowd. The type of people you hope are on your next Trafalgar tour !

It appears to be incredibly serene; the sound track is perfect.

Glad you enjoyed it Bob.
The laugh was, I made eight DVD's, similar to the `youtube` version, (Only because of a better quality picture with `click to DVD` programme), and offered them to the ladies in the pictures as a keepsake of the trip.
NOT ONE OF THEM HAS A DVD PLAYER !!!
( Yes ! I said a quiet prayer !!) Wink
