I had one tour director (not a Trafalgar tour) who asked how much I earned, and because I was a bit younger at the time, only 27, wanted to know why I picked the particular tour company that I had since I knew the clientele would be older, and she said I should have done a Contiki young persons tour! Needless to say she didn't get a tip, she even had the hide to ask me why I hadn't tipped her, and I said "According to your logic I don't earn enough to do a tour like this so I can't afford to tip you!"
Thou shalt not expect to find all things precisely as they were at home, for thou hast left home to find things different!

That's rather appalling as if you get a bunch of Aussies together thay don't roll over easily. On the tour we had which was about 50% Aussies I'm very sure the TD started bullying he would ended up with a mouth full for his efforts. For the record we had an excellent TD on our UK trip maybe they thought their convicts were coming back for revenge so gave us one of their best TD's.

Valerie was pleasant and willing to answer all sorts of questions about Irish culture and present day life there. Her personality was calm and pleasant to all and her knowledge of each area was wonderful. Found out she had 20 yrs experience. Didn't hurt that she reminded me of my aunt Kay! Next trip in 3 weeks is Best of Switzerland. Hope I get another wonderful guide.
M Ryan, I did the Best of Switzerland a few years ago. If you go to the Tour Tales section and look under the thread Where Are All the Tour Tales, you will find my tour report. It is a bit old and they may have changed it some but it was a great tour. The scenery is spectacular.
Jeannie A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.
