Hi Rex, you lucky thing!
Your itinerary might depend a bit on the season. (I don't know what the 'rest' season is with cattle studs, if there is one.) Are you a ski fanatic, going in the depths of winter, or a non-snow person who'd rather avoid the cold? (You can go swimming in sthn. Austria, even in the winter, if you're tough enough!) Do you go gaga over the lush ornamentation of Hapsburg palaces, or are you more into the relative severity of Roman ruins? Aren't the Alps wonderful. I love looking at the pics on the BB photos. Let us know what you decide, won't you. |

Ah, wonderful. From my experience (1 tour) you can't miss in Austria/Bavaria, and it's probably the same for Switzerland. Whatever you decide will be great, especially if you can upgrade from a Costsaver type tour. |

As a point of interest, is Michael Flatley still performing in Lord of the Dance?
I saw it when it in the 90's, he has to be the fittest bloke I have ever seen on stage. I am jealous too!! Though, I am going to see Dirty Dancing in London, my friend who lives there has booked tickets. I am looking forward to seeing this before I head off to Italy for my tour. How Many More Sleeps! |

Hi I just did the Grand Alpine Tour and it was amazing- 2 days in Zermatt. Uli Hagen was our TD and he is phenomenal. Should be a history teacher-his knowledge of History and Geography and general information is astounding. It's a wonderful trip with a nice variety of cities, small villages and old fortified towns-lots of great optionals like Hitler's Eagle's nest and Klein Matterhorn cable car excursion too. Not to mention the spectacular scenery as well.
Check it out if you are interested in Southern Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The Td has done this trip many times as well as many others throughout Europe and he thinks it is the best. It used to be called The Best of Europe until others complained about the title and it got renamed Grand Alpine. Sandy |
