Has anyone been on the Contrasts of Europe train tour this year? We're going in August and would like any advice about optionals, etc.

It is really great to hear more people going on this tour over the next couple of months. We are also going on the 7th Sept and will be waiting in anticipation for those of you returning to give us some tour tales.
I am also very interested to see what optionals will be offered - Shelley

We leave in just two days for Contrasts of Europe, I would love any last minute insights from anyone who has already been. But I will try and post our findings as soon as we return to help you out, Perfect-2-a-T. Anything special you want me to be on the lookout for?

We leave for this tour on the 7th September. Just over two weeks we fly out of New Zealand, leaving all the the cold rain behind. We got our tickets today so it is more of a reality. Have been looking on the site often to see if anybody has posted about the tour but alas nobody, will just have to experience it for ourselves, unless someone posts before we go.
Have a wonderful time Leanne. Look forward to meeting you Perfect-2-A-T on the tour. Ciao

Well we leave tomorrow (Saturday Aug 16) and will be home on September 1, so I'll attempt to post my impressions as soon as I get my senses about me!

I will! I know I'd have liked to have more up-to-date info on the tour before we leave, but maybe this way it seems like more of an adventure. Thank you all for the best wishes and I'll see you back here September 1.

Hi Leanne McD, thank you so much for replying, I am so excited for you...have a great trip. I would love to know how you find the trains, if there is a rep throughtout the whole journey, does it take a long time from one place to another and how difficult it is to cart your luggage from train to hotels. Finally, how are the hotels, food, excursions and any advice you wouldl ike to share. I hope this isn't too much to ask...but much thanks if you can. Bon Voyage!!!

My intention is to make notes along the way. I'll do the best I can (I feel like a trailblazer!) and report back around September 1, we get back to Ottawa late on August 31.

Ciao, mes amis!
