Dimpz, at many drug stores you can find it where in they have blister and callus treatments for feet, ie Dr Scholls if you have that brand. There are also insoles and other aids for sore feet. It might be called something else and it looks a little like skin tone or light beige velvet.

Thanks Marie-Louise Smiler

We do have Dr Scholl products, & LOL Big Grin who would ever forget those wooden sandals they made in the '70's?

I am familiar with moleskin material & I am guessing from your description it looks similar. I will check it out when next I shop.

thanks Cool

Hi there !
Having travelled a great deal during the last 50 years, the Europen Whirl Tour even made it to the big screen in the late 1960's.

The movie is called " If it's Tuesday, this must be Belgium" and a MUST SEE for anyone taking a European Whirl Tour. It's hilarious and you can watch parts of it on:

This movie " If it's Tuesday, this must be Belgium", with Suzanne Pleshette,Norman Fell, Mildred Natwick and many others is hilarious from beginning to end. I believe you can order the DVD from Amazon.com for under $20.00.

Enjoy!

Hi, I'll be taking the European Whirl tour in March 2010. I was just wondering how much time is spent on the bus per day. This tour will visit 8 countries. How much time do we actually get to spend sightseeing? Has anyone taken this tour? What were your opinions? I don't want to get my expectations up too high. Otherwise I might be disappointed that we won't have much time to do much of anything if most of the time is spent on the bus.

Hello Aussie Miss and Luvetotravel,

You are most welcome; I still love watching that movie, it's hilarious to watch some of the predicaments they get themselves into. But I don't think the movie is still available from the video stores, I tried but so far no luck.

Oh, when you f-i-n-a-l-l-y arrive at your hotel in Amsterdam in the late afternoon and you still want to see the Anne Frank House, remember it closes at 7.00 PM with last admission at 6.30 PM. The Anne Frank House is only a few blocks away from The Dam (the main square)

In other words, quikcly drop off your bags in your hotel room, grab a taxi and head over to the Anne Frank House as soon as you can. The entrance fees is around 8.00 Euro's I believe.

Peter

Peters: Welcome to the board and thanks for the link. It was amusing to watch. Fans of Hyacinth Bucket will enjoy seeing a much younger Patricia Routledge in the role of local guide.
Did you notice some of the ladies in pearls and some men wearing ties and jackets on their coach tour? How times have changed. Smiler

Did I hear the news correctly ? I believe Anne Frank just passed away.
Correction.....
Just heard the news again. It was the last of Anne Frank's helpers, who died yesterday . 100 years old.

Don't leave town , till you've seen the country.

Anne Frank died in 1945. It was Miep Gies who died yesterday.

Caitie;
Thank you for the welcome!
And how stupid of me NOT to remember our "Hyacinth". Now I MUST see that movie again. I am a big fan of Patricia Routledge aka Hyacinth Bucket. In many ways she was "the Martha Stewart" of her time..hahahaha

And you are right, everyone is so well dressed on that "European Tour" dresses, pearls, jackets, ties and so on.

I do hope many members here get a chance to see the movie " If it's Tuesday, this must be Belgium" either before they go or upon their return, because it's absolutely priceless.

Peter
Have a great " Whirl" everyone!

Peters: I saw the movie ages ago and can remember nothing about it but the title. After seeing the clip, I've now added it to my Netflix queue.
Hey, TT WEb! When are you going to make a movie depicting modern day coach travel?
