Has anyone been to Warwick castle on the Best of Britain tour. Its not listed on the optionals but in 2006 they went even though it was not listed.
Thanks,
Hamlet

Hamlet,

I've been to Warwick Castle, but I don't recall if it was included or an optional. It was extraordinarily impressive, and certainly (IMO) worth any effort to visit.

Regards,

Bob

You an get to Warwick very easily from London. The train leaves from the Marylebone station and if I remember correctly it is only an hour or so ride. Very easy to get to the Castle, you can walk to it from the station in Warwick.

We have taken many day trips out of London on our own and so many are just an hour or so by train and always an adventure.

All the above (except being the UN!), plus the support and encouragement when you're feeling down or anxious

Ditto to all the above. It's great "meeting" everyone here on the BB. Such valuable info shared is a fantastic experience.

Hi Hamlet,
Warwick Castle was not included on our Best of Britain last year or offered as an optional. Sometimes if a listed visit is not available you will be offered an alternative eg. Balmoral was closed when we were there so we went to Glamis instead.
I believe Warwick is close to Stratford which would mean you would have to do it on the last day of the tour. That day is already full of activities and I can't imagine time being available for anything else - you would get back to London too late. Smiler
