My flight to Greece departs in 11 days, and my TA still does not have any documents from TT.

Thank God for this forum, or else I would be running around at the last minute trying to find the right sized suitcases, etc.

I remember reading a post from someone who had not gotten them 2 weeks out, but I'm even closer to that. I'm afraid my TA (a friend in another state) will have to pay extra to overnight them to me.

I would really like a chance to examine them, as there was already one mistake that had to be corrected. (They had us paying for a night in Athens, before we arrived there.)

that is not common at all, you should have your docs by now....get on your TA ASAP, no need to overnight with 11 days unless it takes 3 or 4 more then yes.....

The reason they don't release documents too early, is because if people lose them, they can't be replaced. We didn't get our until just over a week to go. but we were that close to our TA, it only takes us an hour to get to her to pick them up.
The reason we had to wait was an last minute hitch with a cancelled connection. There seems to be a lot of that, now airlines are trying to fill flights by combining with other flights.

Don't leave town , till you've seen the country.

there was another gentleman on this forum (can't remember who exactly) who also was not receiving his docs in a timely manner, however his situation was that he was leaving for personal travel prior to the tour start date so had to keep bugging his TA about getting his docs (thank goodness he finally did get them in time) Big Grin

I would be getting onto my TA to see what the holdup was. 11 days is not long.

My TA has already been in touch with them, (even before I called her) and is now calling and emailing daily.

Mrs Toad ~ If I was this close & had not received my documents I would be emailing TT myself! there is a 'contact us' tab on their main web-site.

Mrs Toad,
Did you get your air from Trafalgar too? Our tickets were all e-tickets for our flights but you have to know what flight you are on.

Hopefully you will hear from your TA soon. But I would take Dimpz's advice and email TT directly myself. It is not normal to not have your tickets this close to your takeoff date. Eeker

Our overseas flight was from TT; we arranged our own flight to JFK, which is an e ticket.

I hate to have two people contacting them, as it could get confusing, but if she doesn't get them today, I think I'll start.

I'm assuming that my packet will have vouchers for airport transfers, luggage tags, directions for meeting with the TD, etc. If it were just the flight, I could work around it.

Mrs. Toad: Don't wait for your TA to get the answers at this late date. Get an e-mail off to Trafalgar ASAP as this is your trip and no one elses. Two contacting Trafalgar is better than one. Good luck. Purvis

Well, I just talked to TT, and the packet was shipped via UPS on July 3rd. Since the 4th was a holiday, and they don't deliver on Sat & Sun, it didn't actually start moving from CA to NJ (where my TA lives) until the 7th, so it might arrive today, but more likely, tomorrow.

I told her I thought that was cutting things a little close, especially because they knew there was a 3 day weekend coming up.

Oh well, my TA will review it, and then overnight it to me, so I should have everything in hand by next Monday. Crisis over. Smiler

Back to studying my map of Athens, so I have a rough idea of the lay of the land. I'm also marking areas we will be visiting in my tour book, and coordinating all of this with names of restaurants recommended by others.

Crisis NOT over. I just heard from my TA, who was not satisfied with the answer I was given, so she asked TT to contact UPS and track the packet.

They can't find it.

TT has resent the packet directly to me, 2 day delivery, via....UPS. Roll Eyes

Hi Mrs Toad,
I'm glad you got it cleared up finally, but probably won't fully relax until you have them in hand. I'm sure after all this, your trip will go smoothly and all will be wonderful!
I hope you have a great time.

Making every second count.

Mrs. Toad: Please let us all know when you have your docs in your hands. Trafalgar should never wait so long to send out the docs. For my first 4 trips I had the docs in 21days. The last trip in late May I didn't get the docs until 14days. Poor showing for Trafalgar which states in their books that the docs will be out in 21days. Trafalgar just doesn't seem to be giving it's clients the service it once did. Purvis

Hi Purvis,

I think in fairness to Trafalgar they have tried their best to get the doc's to Mrs Toad, the original doc's seemed to have been mislaid in transit, (not Trafalgar's fault) but Trafalgar have re-issued the doc's and I am sure Mrs Toad will have them in her hands ASAP. Smiler
