Today i received advice from the travel agent the details that need to be provided for express check-in. When i entered the site upcame the tour Code, Tour name and then the departure date. My only problem is that the date under departure date is the date i leave sydney not the start date of the tour. is this right?

Don't bother filling in.

My TD asked me to fill in the same information on the first day of tour who told me that Trafalgar did not pass information to him.

Don't worry to do this. I entered the site a few days prior to departure and got the message that it was too late to do the express check-in. There was no problem. I didn't even get any forms to fill in on my first day. Smiler

My understanding on this board is that day 1 of the tour for people from the US etc is the day they travel and for others day 1 is the date the tour departs. For example if I lived in the US and was leaving on 1 August for a tour departure from London on the 2nd then 1 August is the start date but I come from NZ (and I think Aussies too) where our start date is listed as 2nd August. Bit confusing Confused

I would not worry too much. If you have all your documents and they match up with the dates for your tour from Trafalgar then forget express checkin. It only takes a moment or two for you to fill in the details when you meet up with your Tour Director. However if this bothers you, and it probably would me coming from so far away (I like all my I's doted and T's crossed) send an e-mail direct to Trafalgar for clarification.

We didn't get our documents in time to do the express check in and I don't recall filling anything out on tour either.

Pre-Check in. Don't bother. I did it for my last tour and took a copy with me to give to my Tour Director only to be told to throw it out and to fill in the form I was given by her. So much for pre-check-in. Purvis

Augusta, we never filled out any forms on our tour. From what I've been reading I thought we were the only ones, but that makes two of us. Smiler

Hi fisho

We did the Grand European in 2007 and filled out the Express Check In. Our TD knew nothing about it so it was a waste of time. Frowner

I have used the Express check-in a couple of times. I made a copy and gave it to the TD. There is no way I would complete the information a second time.

We just received our documents and my travel agent told me to complete the Express check-in and I called the 1-800 number instead of doing it online and the lady I was talking too couldn't get our information in the system. She asked her supervisor for help and she told her to send us a link to click on to and said because we were on the Free and Easy Tour that it probably did matter. When I received the link I clicked on it and it was was information on security, taking money with you, etc etc. So I guess I won't worry about it.

I tried to do an express checkin, mainly just to have a look, but had no success.According to the note I received, you haver to checkin exactly 15 days before your departure date.
