Hi, We are considering doing this tour before the Egyptian Voyager we have booked for April next year. Has anyone done it? What was it like? Any advice?

I'd really appreciate some insight!

I'm doing the Insight Israel Discovery in a couple weeks. I'll be putting up a tour tale on the Insight board (and will post link to it here). The ID runs in the opposite direction of the BoI, but they pretty well visit all the same sites. I know there are no Israel tour tales on either the TT or Ins boards, so I'll make it as detailed as possible.

Any questions I can keep in mind for you while I'm there?

Sixteen sleeps and a peep...

Hi Chech,

I'd be so grateful if you put up your tour tale - as you mentioned, there aren't any on Israel on either board, very frustrating for those of us planning a trip Wink I love reading about people's experiences of the places I plan to go to - so much more enlightening than the brochures!

We were discussing our plans last night and have more or less made up our minds to do the Insight Israel Discovery. As it ends in Jerusalem, we're hoping to spend a couple of extra nights there before heading to Egypt. I'll be visiting our travel agent tomorrow morning Smiler

Hope you have a wonderful time!

Thanks. I'm getting pumped! Smiler

I'll put up the tour tale as I travel on the Insight board, so you can ask questions on the spot if you like. (I'll be checking both boards too). I might even get some pictures up. I find it really relaxing to sit down at the end of the day and type everything up...especially since it's fresh in my mind.

15 days and a peep!

sob, sob..... our Israel tour is not going to happen as planned next year March! As we had already booked and paid for our flights for the Egyptian Voyager, the plan was to change the flights to incorporate the Israel tour - when we got the quote we realised it just wasn't feasible - they were changing us a whopping penalty to change the flights Eeker and we would have spent an awful lot of time sitting in airports and arriving at ungodly hours to get to Israel... it felt like we were trying too hard to make this work and compromising too much to make this tour happen... so eventually sanity prevailed and we have decided to put it off until next time {sigh)

But all is not lost, I've still got Egypt to look forward to Cool

And yes, I'm a cat lover, with 2 cute kitties

Ah, that's too bad. The good news is that your next tour can be Israel and Jordan!! After Egypt, you'll be drawn back to the Middle East.

Oh...and I should have said...we are all owned by cats. LOL

Dear Gill
Very sorry to read you won't make Israel this trip but good to know you talk about a next time - something to look forward to. Smiler It seems to be very difficult to get to Israel. We are going next year and the whole of our trip revolves around getting in and out of Tel Aviv.

I agree with Chech, we visited Egypt last year and enjoyed the experience so much we decided to visit Turkey and Israel next year. We are in the throes of researching and booking to take advantage of all the early bird discounts being offered

I also have two cats and, as you know, they run your lives.

Happy travelling.

We've decided to do the Insight Treasures of Turkey in September 10 but are using another company for the Israel & Jordan tours.
