Hi,

I am going on this tour departing September 2nd. I am 27 but chose this tour due to the great itenary. I was wondering if anyone on this board is doing this tour?

I am so excited and have read other peoples stories about this tour and it seems great!

I'm doing this tour but it starts 30 July. Looking forward to it. I'm doing the Cost Saver. There's a few people on this forum who have done the tour, so I'm sure you'll get more replies.

Are you staying pre-tour in The Jurys Inn Chelsea? We arrive just the night before tour starts so will be jet lagged.I'm sure we will all have a fun time. There normally apparently is a widw range of aged people on tour. You are right that this tours itinerary is fantastic and comprehensive.we are doing The cruise of Greek islands extension ,are you.Have fun planning and I look forward to meeting you.!!

Hi,

Yes I am staying at the Jurys Inn Chelsea the night before. I actually am going on a tour before and have relatives in London as well to stay with. I leave Australia on July 15th..Are you from Australia?
I am also doing the Greek Island cruise. I got all my tickets today and it looks fantastic, especially the optionals.

You will both have a great time on this tour. We did it last year and had a ball. We all got on very well. The cruise option is lovely. The islands are beautiful and it is nice to be able to have a little "down time" in the middle of the tour from the busy coach touring part. The pre night stay at the Jurys Inn Chelsea was very comfortable for us. Slept like a top considering the excitement we had about our first tour.

HI, I', also going on the european discoverer including trip to Greece leaving on the 3rd September - pleased to see a few others finally making the bulletin board. Looks like there may be quite a few staying at Jurys Inn - hopefully we can all catch up prior to the trip.

Wow that's 3 peoople on the BB who are doing the same tour - that's pretty good as many people who tour do not post on the BB. This is a great tour (we did it in 2005), you get to see lots of wonderful places. You will be exhausted by the time you are finished, but I think it only hits you at the end. The break in Greece/Greek Islands is good - time to recharge your batteries a little, but if you do all the optionals on the islands you will still be quite busy. I hope you have lots of money for the optionals as there are many "must do's" along the way.

A dream is just a dream. A goal is a dream with a plan and a deadline.

It seemed like you had a great time. I read the tour tale. I am looking forward to it and hoping there are people of all different ages...

I am really looking forward to the Greek Island cruise.

HI TO ALL TRAVELLERS WHO HAVE BEEN ON THE EUROPEAN DISCOVERER COSTSAVER. MY HUSBAND AND I ARE HOPING TO DO THIS TOUR IN SEPTEMBER 2009. WE WILL BE BOTH 65YRS THEN . JUST STARTING RETIREMENT AND ARE WONDERING IF THIS IS THE RIGHT TOUR FOR US. WE ARE FIT HOWEVER WE ARE NOT SUPER FIT AND HAVE BEEN TOLD BY OTHERS THAT THIS TRIP IS TOO LONG FOR US AND THAT WE WOULD BE BETTER TO DO TWO SEPARATE TOURS WITH A BREAK IN BETWEEN. BECAUSE THERE IS A THREE DAY CRUISE OF THE GREEK ILANDS WE THOUGHT THIS IS A BIG ENOUGH REST? IF THERE ARE ANY TRAVELLERS OF OUR AGE WHO HAVE DONE THIS TOUR WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR THERE VIEWS REGARDING OUR QUESTION. LOOKING FORWARD TO HEARING FROM ANYONHE WHO IS KIND ENOUGH TO REPLY. THANKS KATHY

My mother who is in her early 70's has just come back from the 31 day European Supreme- as well as about 6 weeks independent travel. She did not find any part of it too much and I would not describe her as super fit. Just pace yourself.

First Time European Traveller.

I am in my late fourties. I have done a few trips now, usually between 14 and 21 days duration. I am a very fit person, but would not say I was 'super fit' like perhaps an athlete. Many of the people who were on the same tours as I varied in age from 40 to 80 though most would have been 60 - 70 year olds. Everyone seemed to manage the tour pace ok. There were some places, particularly where there were stairs that caused some problems, but most managed to get up, but maybe a bit slower than everyone else. Some tours, particularly those in Italy can include a lot of uphill walking. I think the tour you have chosen with a cruise included will be good for you.

Wow, I can't believe you already found 3 people going on the same tour!!! I've been trying for a long time to find anyone going on my tour (European Cavalcade - Sept. 1)and have no luck. One taking the trip but not at the same time and a couple that have already been. According to my TA, the one bus is full and they are selling a second right now -- so there should be lots.

I'm sure all of you will have a great time!
