I'm sorry for the delay in finishing my Tour Tale, but I'm having trouble with my internet provider/phone service. I keep getting bunped from the net when the phone rings; they've promised to fix it by Tuesday afternoon.
So, I got tired of starting to write, getting bunped, and starting all over again. I could just leave the phone off the hook, but then my family would not be able to reach me. |

No worries, Mrs. Toad. We'll be patient. For a little while.

Mrs Toad, think of yourself and get ready for that hurricane that has Florida in its sight.
Batten down, take care and come back when you are safe. Life is better on a bike. |

OMG, has hurricane season started already? Take good care, Florida people.

Brenda, it started June 1 and won't end until the end of November. I'm not sure where in Florida Mrs. Toad lives, but I think one of us is going to be meeting Fay (the name of the storm).

OK Toad I will accept your excuse for the time being but if it is an extended delay you will have to produce a note from your guardian.
PS Dumb question. Does the hurricane season greatly influence travel in Florida? |

Hmm, I don't know if I will accept a delay in a Tour Tale. Well, only this time |

Keitel, it would take more than that to keep people from coming down to enjoy our wonderful state!

Tootsiebelle and Mrs T and all other Floridians.
I've seen what a hurricane can do to your beautiful state(s) and the thought of any more of those beauties brings me to tears. But, Florida survives through it all. My daughter and ex have a beachfront condo in Vero Beach and it was virtually--well the whole building--destroyed by two hurricanes three, was it, years ago. So much for an investment--it's taken this long to settle claims and rebuild and refurnish. I know that's trivial in comparison to what others went through that time. And New Orleans comes to mind. However, wherever you are, I wish you well through the season and no, Keitel, there will be, I predict, as many snowbirds as ever from Canada and the northern U.S. states spending time in the sunshine. What I would give for some orange ice cream right now from our favourite freshly squeezed juice place in St Pete's. You can't imagine how much this compares favourably with any gelato I've had--and for me that's saying something. Brenda, you're right. In 2004 we had three hurricanes come through within six weeks. It was devastating to us all but especially on the coasts.
Needless to say, we don't take things for granted any longer. Thanks for the good wishes. "Laughter is the music your heart can dance to. . ." |

Hi everyone! Just taking a break from battening down the hatches.
Fay is actually getting stronger as she crosses land, is projected to go out to sea, then come back to land by Thursday afternoon, as a Cat 1 or 2 hurricane, right in my vicinity. Schools have just been clossed for the next two days; my son is doing his happy jig, I'm heading out to buy chocolate. (BTW, I have a generator, bottled water, batteries, etc, as I was hit by those storms in 2004, and didn't have power for almost 3 weeks...never again!) BUT, it might give me ebough free time to write my Tour Tale in longhand, then post it later. Did I mention that I also had a plumbing leak, and my "bug" guy found termites under the house? The phone finally got fixed today...just in time for the hurricane. Can I go back to Greece, pleeease??? |

Mrs Toad,
stay safe and I hope your supply of Good chocolate is sufficient to help you cope with all the stress at the moment... Heading to Greece in 21 days. Yay!!! Making every second count. |
