Saki, I remember you were looking for rain boots, I found these, I though they would be handy for Scotland (I'll be going in September), I am ordering two pairs, they are interchangeable left/right, so I figure I will have two spares. They pack very small.

Wow, those are a great price and pack very small. I bought my husband some NEO overshoes when he went to Norway in the winter, but they were about $30. You've found a great product!

Thank you Californian, what a great find. They look perfect, small and cheap! Will order right away.

Californian, my question is, if you know, what size are women sizes. I usually wear 9, 9.5 so which size should I order?

Saki, I wear 9 1/2-10, I called, they told me to order medium, my shoes are bulky, so I ordered a pair M and a L. I plan to keep them both, since they are inexpensive, and same shipping charges, don't know how long will take, if you can wait, I'll let you know.

Californian ~ Thanks so much for the info about the shoe covers Smiler I have bought some great new walking shoes & have water-proofed them but they have a suede-y look & I have wondered if they would water mark. We will be in Scotland & Ireland later in the year so I need to prepare for liquid sunshine. Cool

Here's a useful site where you can see Scotland's average rainfall and sunshine. It's metric. Glasgow, for example, gets about 80mm of rain in August, which is about 3.1 inches.

The Western Highlands are the wettest, but the East of Scotland gets less rain in some places than Sydney and Barcelona! That was eye-opening for me.

Please let me know when you receive them how they fit over size 9.5 shoes. I have time to order since I will be leaving August 7.
Thanks, Saki

We are taking a TT of the U.K. & then after a 3 day break we take a TT of Spain, Portugal & Morocco. We leave Sydney 18th August & have some free time in London before the 1st tour. Smiler

Caitie ~ Thank you they are very interesting sites.

I was once told that Sydney had a greater amount of rainfall per annum than London Eeker I think we have shorter more heavy downpours where London has mizzle (misty drizzle) that can last days. Frowner

My recent UK/Scotland tour was very wet. I wore a new pair of Keen walking shoes with a Gortex liner. No wet feet and very comfortable.

I have been searching to see if I can find similar shoe covers in Australia, to the ones in the link that Californian has posted. So far no luck! Frowner

I love my new walking shoes, they are light as a feather & very comfortable. I wear them every day on my regular walk, but I am not game to slop through puddles to test them to see if they are waterproof. They still have their new look & I want to keep that as long as I can, or at least until we have completed this years tours. Cool

Dimpz, have you tried snow outfitters?

When all else fails, plastic bags. It is such a good look.

Dimpz, My walking shoes which I took on my last tour are also a suede finish and I waterproofed them before I left. I am pleased to say that after several days walking in rainy weather they stood up to the test and as for comfort for my feet - I couldn't wait to put them back on again the next morning!!!
