I am sorry to read about all on the BB that are not well and hope that you are on the way to better health. In Australia the flu was very bad and they are still giving people the shots as the doctors say that it may come back over summer. I had one a few weeks ago and did not have any problems after having it.
On another note I read that someone said they went back to their room after breakfast to check the room and Safe. On my last tour a couple of people left things behind which caused the TD lots of problems. My tip is if you are going to use the Safe make yourself and check list so you can tick off your personal belongings before you leave. This would make is a lot less stressful for you and the TD. You guys live in a lovely part of the U.S. I have been to Norman, to UO, for a conference some years ago. Are these places Edmond and Norman named after important individuals in your State? Thanks Brenda......we certainly enjoy the low cost of living here. Edmond was named after Edmond Burdick, the Santa Fe Railroad Freight Manager back in 1887. That is probably more than I care to know LOL!! |

Here you go, isujim: "In 1870, the United States Land Office contracted with a professional engineer to survey much of Oklahoma territory. Abner E. Norman, a young surveyor, became chairman and leader of the central survey area in Indian Territory. The surveyor’s crew burned the words “NORMAN’S CAMP” into an elm tree near a watering hole to taunt their younger supervisor." Had to find out and sometimes Wikipedia is a good resource. Well the BB shows your message posted at 08:15 on November 5th (local time in Thailand) which is 19:15 on November 4th in Oklahoma.
Here, in Thailand we are at GMT + 7, you at GMT - 6 so 13 hours behind us. The United Kingdom has just gone off summer time so is at GMT. Sydney and Melbourne are on Summer time so are at GMT + 11, Brisbane doesn’t observe Summer time so it as GMT + 10. Adelaide is on Summer time and is at GMT + 10:30 and Perth is, I believe, on GMT + 8 having tried Summer time and decided not to continue with it. All confusing enough? So when it was 19:15 on November 4th for you it was 01:15 on the 5th in London, 12:15 In Sydney and Melbourne, 11:15 in Brisbane, 11:45 in Adelaide and 09:15 in Perth. I hope I got that right! When you travel, remember that a foreign country is not designed to make you comfortable. It is designed to make its own people comfortable. |

Brenda,
Do you realise that it's possible to live in the USA in one of the Atlantic states and be on the exact same time as someone living in a Pacific state? Sounds impossible but it does occur. If nobody can work out how this happens I can explain it at a later time.
