I have very thick hair but keep it short & always have it cut extra short just before a TT so I can just get away with hotel hairdryers & not have to take my own.

Kathy one tip I learned early on was not to take thick socks on tour, they are terrible to try & get dry. Mad

Thanks for that dimpz. I usually wear the nylon type socks but this time I was going to include a few pairs suitable for my longer walking days on tour .Especially the ones that have a little padding on the sole.
Still have not decided about my hair cut for travelling .I am thinking that I will give up trying to grow it longer and go back to my usual shorter style and will not need the straightner on tour eother.

Kathy I usually wear the little ankle type sockettes they are cotton & not thick. If the weather is warm you may not want to be taking nylon.

I have finally found a new pair of walking shoes, to replace my old, much loved & now disgusting pair. DH has waterproofed them for me & I can't wait to try them on my walk tomorrow morning. Cool

I have some cotton pairs too .Thought I would take a mixture with me.
Have the lower ankle walking socks as well they are the padded ones.
If I find they are not suitable and too hot. I have a good pair of walking sandals to wear on those days.
The three pairs of shoes I am taking are all suitable for walking. Not that glamorous but the sandals can be warn in the evenings too.Suitable shoes as one would call them. Wink Big Grin

Oh I am so jealous Razzer I have never been able to find a pair of walking sandals that suit me. I have purchased several pair only to find they hurt or rub or cause blisters. Very expensive mistakes Mad

I took my new walking sandals on this trip and they were great. Not at all glamorous but I could walk as far in them as I do in sneakers so they were very good. Bought them from a sports store but cannot remember the brand. They do up with velcro straps.

Cheers

We did use the dryers for socks and undies but hubby found that placing these sames items over the lamps while they were turned on dried them much faster (or course this is only while we were in the room) Big Grin

Sounds like your sandals are similar to mine which are a brand called Dana Ferrair Supersofts which retail in NZ for around $120pr

I got two pairs of shoes one leather, flat closed in shoe the same brand and the second pair were the sandals , same brand for half price so I thought I got a bargain.
I have been buying this same brand for my working shoes for some years now. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had and now buy the two pair special when it is available at the same store.Buy one and get second pair half price.
.I used to buy Hush Puppies but even they are not as good fitting for my feet as Dana Ferrari Supersofts.
I sound like and advert for the company. Big Grin Big Grin The Merrin brand of walking shoe is another comfortable brand I like too. I have a pair of those for my serious walking shoes. Big Grin Big Grin

I just traveled through 8 countries in Europe on my tour (Cost Saver)and every single one of our hotels had a hair dryer! It might be hidden in a drawer or in the closet if it isn't in the bathroom
