Hi,with only 3 and a half weeks till I go on my tour I'm getting extremely excited and also very grateful to all those people who have helped me with information.
I got my documents etc today for our tour European Discoverer (30 day)leaving 3rd Sept.My question is where do most people keep their E-Tickets,Travel Accom vouchers, passports, when on tour?Is it safe to leave everthing like this in Hotel safe and just take passport with you on bus.I have heard that some hotel safes aren't that safe?I was considering keeping everything on me in my carry purse tightly under my arm is this wise?Having never been to Europe i'm naive.I have travelled through Thailand twice with purse and never had any troubles.Would appreciate anyones thoughts.Cheers Janine.

I can tell you what I/we did.

1. Passport My husband kept his in his money belt, along with his credit card and ATM card. I kept mine in an interior zippered compartment of my special travel bag (pac safe brand). I then zipped the top, which has a clip type locking mechanism, so that it cannot be unzipped without an extra step. The bag is slash/cut proof due to it's construction. The strap is adjustable, so can be worn across the chest. It has an exterior insulated pocket for a water bottle, and some exterior, zip pockets for change and small bills. I carried my credit card, ATM, and larger bills in a special, very tiny satin pouch which snapped to my bra straps, and hung just below my bosom. It was easy to pull it up by the strap when I needed to charge something, and did not get in the way during the day.

2. Travel vouchers, e-tickets, etc. We were never asked for the tour vouchers, but were given any needed tickets by our TD. However, I still kept them safe, just in case, by zipping them into a pocket of my suitcase, and locking it whenever I wasn't in the room. I felt that this was just as safe as using the hotel safe, and lessened the chance that I would forget to retrieve them. Most thieves would be looking for cash/valuables, which I always had in my bag, with me.

I keep my passport, extra money, and back up credit card in a pouch around my neck.

I make extra copies of my air line e-tickets (and keep them in a separate place) just in case I lose them and someone asks for them. I do not worry about them being stolen because no one is going anywhere with them without my passport.

Generally no one asks for them any of the other vouchers.

Janine: I have started to travel with a money belt. I usually put my travel docs, and extra monies in the room safe if there is one and carry a small amount of money in my purse and the rest in a money belt along with my passport. I also put my travel alarm, MP3 player etc. in my locked luggage whenever I leave the room . Your passport and monies are the only thing you really can't aford to lose everything else can be replaced. Don't bring any expensive jewlery with you as it becomes just one more thing you have to worry will be stolen. As for leaving things in your safe when you move on. I usually leave myself a self reminder to empty the safe with a note on my luggage before going to bed the previous nite. It may sound stupid but it works for me. Purvis

Hi Janine,

I use a clip wallet for my passport, credit cards, cash and airline tickets, this was recommended to me by Caitie a couple of years ago, it is so easy to use and it isn't cumbersome. Check out the link below

Clip Wallet

I also carry a small handbag with enough cash for that day plus one credit card and I wear this across my chest, the straps on the handbag have wire through the leather so it cannot be cut through.

My daughter and I have one of the neck things, but just tie it thru our the front of our bra and adjust it and let it hang under our slacks. No one can see it and can pull it up at anytime. Nena

Mine is the slingsafe 200 in black. As mentioned, I was able to carry two water bottles (one inside the bag) and everything else I needed for the day. It was smaller than a tote bag, and with the zipper lock, antitheft mesh and straps, and wearing it across my chest, I felt very secure.

I found the money belt to be very uncomfortable. I tried everything out at home before the trip, walking long distances wearing it, trying to make purchases, using the restroom, etc.

I was much happier with my bra pouch and pac safe purse.

Oh, yes. I remember sending that clip wallet to your hotel in time for your trip. Glad you like it. I love mine and always take it with me. It`s a comfortable option.

Caitie ~ You have no idea how well travelled that little money clip is, it has been to Europe, Asia, Canada, Alaska and the South Pacific, my daughter also borrows it when she travels, it never seems to find its way back into my travel draw so I have to go to her house find it and bring it home. You do manage to come up with great travel gadgets, thank you. Smiler

I also use the clip wallet, thanks to Caitie. It's a fabulous wallet that clips to the inside of your pants. It's quite comfortable and I hardly know it's there. My cash, credit cards and passport are always in there and always on my person. I tried the neck pouch on my first tour but I found it cumbersome. The clip wallet is so much easier.

Yes, I vote for the clip wallet too Smiler I just can't stand the neck pouch & found the outline could be seen through some clothes.

Go for the clip wallet, ideal for male or female. Cool

We also have photocopies of tickets, passport, c/card in the lining of our suitcase + copies at home.

Live each day....instead of counting the years.
