And don't forget the travel vests (e.g. Tilley Endurables, Columbia Sportswear). I wear that during the daytime and if we're going out for a dinner, I lock up everything in my safe and carry a bit of cash and my passport in a small leather pouch. Since I choose to travel at times when the weather isn't too hot, this is a very comfortable arrangement all-round.

In my younger days I shared a beer with a guy who was introduced to me as a "semi-professional pickpocket". He found it annoying that more people were keeping things under their clothing. This, therefore, has become the place I keep passports, cards and large notes.
The downside is that it may give me bulges in strange(wrong)places. Eeker Wink

I've also bought a Pacsafe bag for our trip and a money belt for both hubby and myself. The Pacsafe will carry maps, water bottle, cardigan (if needed) and possible camer, video. I also lock up anything that I don't need during the day in my suitcase, like Purvis said, that you way you are also less likely to forget something.

I had one of those pouch things you hang around your neck for credit cards and passport and I hated it! The last thing I need is more bulges. Going to have to think of something else for my mext trip. Everything else I carry in a bag that hangs in front of me so I am in touch with it at all times. Maybe that is security enough?

I hate the pouches, we girls care about how we look. Until you can get a clip wallet have Tony wear the neck pouch. Wink

I too find underclothing money belts, clip wallets, pouches, etc very uncomfortable. I usually keep passport and money in a travel handbag worn over the front. I keep all travel docs in locked suitcase with an extra credit card. Never had a problem with pickpockets - just be aware - no need to panic though.

Enjoy your holiday Big Grin

I used to use a money belt. Used the clip wallet on last trip thanks to Missie and Caitie and really liked it.
Looked up the PacSafe bags and while they look quite safe they would be too heavy for me. I try to keep my bag as light as possible, starting with a bag that weighs just over 1 lb by itself would make it uncomfortable. I use the LLBean travel bag. Very lightweight, plenty of pockets, place for water bottle and long strap that can be worn over the body. Works for me.

Clip wallet sounds much better than the "outline" under the shirt.

Has the clip wallet ever come unclipped. Are the clips real tight.
Had a friend that wore the hanging money belt in Pompeii and it was so hot that the ink on her travels checks ran.

We took money belts but I found it inconvenient. Hubby always used it and it was ok. I just used my leather handbag that has a long strap and put it diagonally across my head/shoulders. No problems at all with security. Maybe I found it easier for me as I seemed to be the one that was always 'dipping' into it to pay for things Big Grin
